“Geographically desirable & affordable”

We have been to Moorten's Botanical Garden over many years, probably about seven times. You may ask WHY would you go back so many times? You've seen it! There are several reasons. Part of it is to get away from the city for awhile and stroll through the catcus. Kind of like visiting a park. But better. You never know what might catch your eye. Maybe something you want to buy. Or maybe just take a picture of? It is very peaceful. A nice place to get away for an hour or so. They had some gorgeous cactus wreaths when we were there. Their prices were fair. But it is just a short drive from Palm Canyon drive and that is the best part. And the cost to get in is low. If you don't expect some state of the art showpiece garden, you won't be disappointed.

“Nothing special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2012

Disappointingly small. It is on a privately-owned estate. Sort of run-down, and small. Definitely lots of different cactus, some are labeled, most are not. Clearly a commercial-enterprise.

“Definitely worth visiting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

This small, privately owned botanic garden presents a fascinating collection of cactus and other desert plants. We spent a very enjoyable hour wandering around the carefully laid out path, which cleverly masks the fact that the entire area can't be more than a couple of acres. The "World's First Cactarium" is a greenhouse structure that contains some truly amazing plants. The Moorten Botanical Garden is definitely worth seeing.

“Cactus Lovers Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

If you like cactus, this is the place for you! If you don't, then you may not appreciate this. We really appreciated this awesome collection of botanical beauty! They charge a $4 per adult entry fee which is a fair fee. It is a large property with a trail filled with various species of cactus, plants, and trees. You get a map of the trail when you pay. My favorite part was seeing the World's First Cactarium. It was also really funny to see the desert tortoises walking around - I have rarely seen any in my life. They sell cactus & we came home with some nice colorful ones.

“Beautiful backdrop for a small wedding”

My husband & I like botanicals and the succulent collection here was exceptional. We went for a small wedding and it was a beautiful little jem for the occassion. The reception was held elsewhere.
