“See water in the desert”

If you enjoy walking other places than a golf course this is a nice escape. Actually you have to walk, no golf carts can make the grade.

“Very Scenic and Great for Photographers”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

The Indian Canyons are quite scenic and you can "hike" along the stream bed and among the indigenous palms. The hiking is somewhere between hiking and walking. Not terribly challenging but a lot of fun. Be sure to bring your camera. And of course in the warmer months, plenty of water to drink.

“Down into the canyon”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

Spend the time to go down into the canyon. To do so with a guide is better as the guide gives interesting history and ecology. Being history questioners, we did stump him a bit, though. One caution, the restrooms are primitive; there is water to wash, but it is not drinkable.

“Wonderful hiking trails”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

The trails are well marked and provide different experiences for different abilities.
You can wander through a palm oasis, open desert, or canyon rock formations all in one day.
All are beautiful and well worth the time. The only difficulty we encountered was at the gate.
Perhaps, for an attraction of this popularity, the attendant could have change for a $50 bill for our admission?? Not helpful.

“beautiful oasises”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

Really wonderful display of nature. We stuck to the easy trails near the trading post. The walk down the trail to the spring was a bit slippery with loose dirt but it added to the fun. The oasis was almost prehistoric looking. We kept waiting for a dinosaur to appear. We saw their relatives, little lizards and lots of humming birds.
