A friend told us this was the shooting locale for one of the early Tarzan movies, so we decided to do a few hikes in the area. It was really beautiful, with lush canyons of palms and musical creeks, and there are several hikes of various lengths, something to please everyone.

This is one of the "must do" things you experience when in Palm Springs. Indian Canyon has a bit of a steep incline to get down that could be challenging for wheel chairs. Andrea Canyon is wheel chair accessible so everyone can visit. The water seeping from the rocks to form creeks that disappear into the desert is fascinating. The shade from the palm trees create a welcoming refuge on the hotter days. Take your time and enjoy!!

We hiked this canyon the very end of January. It was $8.00 to get in as we paid for our tickets at a travel info center. this saves you $1.00 on admission. We took the Victor trail. this is a moderate hike. We took along snacks & beverages along in a small back pack. Do not try to do this trail without any water, you will need something to drink. Although you start out down in the canyon, you are "up top" for a good part of the hike in the full sun. This hike is beautiful. They had rain a few night before we were there, so there was some "running" water to make it really pretty & sort of like an oasis. there are picnic table at the parking area so you could plan on taking something to eat out there too. they do have a small store up at the begining to purchase drinks & gifts. There are many trails you can follow up here, so you could spend all day there if you want. We were good with the one 1 1/2 hour hike. there are outhouse type restrooms to use in the parking area. Glad we did this hike. You would need to be in fairly good shape to do this hike. If you have trouble walking, I would not recommend this.

I was a bit skeptical about going after reading the reviews, especially those that commented on the steep price. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw that the admission was only $9.00. I thought $9.00 was a bargain for the number of available hikes and the excellent advice from the on-site ranger. It was a balmy 75 degrees, on a sunny January afternoon and found it to be a perfect temperature for trekking. We completed the Palm Canyon, Victor, and the Andreas Canyon. I wish we had come earlier so we could have explored more trails.

Nice walk, but $45 for 3 people to walk for 1.5 hrs a bit price . Enjoyed the freedom to walk on various paths
