We knew the resort would not be fancy, but could they not update the beds & bedding. The pillows where extremely flat & uncomfortable. The hot tub was so cloudy you could not see the bottom of the tub. The communication between office & housekeeping was terrible. We will never stay there again, worst place I have ever stayed.

We have stayed at Club Trinidad many times and hope to return many more. The location is perfect - five minutes or less to restaurants and shops on Palm Canyon in Palm Springs, and an interesting ride to the uber trendy shops in Palm Desert. It's also convenient to hiking in the Indian and Tahquitz Canyons, the LIving Desert gardens and zoo, and to the Mt. San Jacinto Aerial Tramway. And if you like to just walk, you can head out the front door and roam around the neighborhood to enjoy the well manicured lawns with exotic plantings and the Palm Springs residential architecture. And, you can walk across the street to a well-stocked Ralph's supermarket -- be sure to sign up for the Ralph's discount card to get some really good prices.
The Club has two well-maintained swimming pools and a spa. The cozy bar, Purple Lounge, was recently remodeled and now seems more spacious and clean. There is a small dance floor and stage area where locals with their own followers perform every night of the week. It's a very friendly place.
We usually reserve a two-bedroom, two-bath suite, which includes a full kitchen and living/dining area. Taking the required kitchen inventory upon arrival is a pain in the neck, especially when items are missing from the drawers/cabinets. This is the only place we've ever stayed that requires guests to take an inventory. Here's the down side: The furnishings are worn, stained and outdated. The decor colors, wall art, and heavy curtains are throwbacks to the 70's-80's. The kitchen cabinet style is outdated, made of low quality press-board, and are a little sticky to the touch. The kitchen lighting soffit is made of Plexiglas and should be replaced with can-lights for cleanliness. Management would be smart to replace the carpets with tile in the high-traffic areas (everywhere but bedrooms). The dust film on the windows appears to have been there for a very long time. Every time we visit the Club, we see small improvements, so we know they're working on it.
This review sounds mostly negative, but it pertains to how the place looks, not how they treat their guests. If you can get past that, you will enjoy your stay. The management and staff are very responsive to all your needs. They treat the place like they own it and you are their special guests. Like I said, we hope to visit there again.

Room Tip: Ask for accommodations in the newer section, which is a little nicer than the old section.

OK, I never saw even one child here and yet, have to admit that the quiet was great...this hotel was built in 1960, I believe, and the rooms are large. Ours had a full kitchen and a great closet area. Grocery store just across the street and the resort has its own Purple Lounge. A walk away is a hotel that serves tequila fights. Staff and service were good.
So the quirky parts: first, the resident masseur was sweet and affordable, but he needs to scrub down his area and give his linens a serious laundering. Maybe some disposable paper liners would make sense around the face rest on his table! Yikes. Secondly, the new diarrhea warning signs around the pool are such a bad idea! They scream "Run, don't swim here." Haha

Call me crazy, but I love this place. Yes, I have been to the Marriott, and I will chose Club Trinidad over and over. I just returned and am amazed to the attention given by the staff to the residents for that week. They have scheduled and impromptu parties along with narrative historical info. The Purple Room is purple and the coolist place ever with a great happy hour. Be mindful that this location was built in the 60's and is intended to remain that way as long as it can to hold on to that nostalgia of the past. The management has been together for 18 years to assure Club Trinidad upholds its reputation as "the place to be" in Palm Springs. I own at the Manhatten Club in NYC, but I can also appreciate the quaint/quirkiness of this place. It is refreshing to see such passion in a staff who truly cares for their resort. By the way, there is no scary alley! I left for the airport at 5:45am alone and felt safe and secure as I made my way to my car and drove the 5 minutes to the airport. And maybe if you are nice, you can get Art to give you a ride in the limo.

I and my wife just stayed for six days, the staff and management were 110 percent at all times. If you want a great place and location give this place a fair shake and check it out. Shopping in the area is within walking distance, resturantes are plenty with a menu for tastes.

Room Tip: Rooms located around the second pool more relaxing.

I read all the reviews I could on this place. We are members of RCI and booked through them. This is a very quiet, clean place. we were put into a renovated studio, full kitchen, nice but small bathroom with a walk in closet/dressing room. the washer dryer was right around the corner from our room. the pool, which was open, and the grill were right outside our door. while we were there, there was constant updating around the facility, new grills being added along with painting and other things. Going into this we knew it would be an older place and yes it is. the bar was ... well... purple. therefore being called the purple room bar..hahaha. i will say this, we did end up going in twice. the first time, no bartender, but after leaving one of the managers ran after us apologizing and asking if we would like a drink! haha, we said no thanks. After a couple of days we gave the bar a second chance, the bartender was not in the room, but we were assured she would be right back. and she was, and she was the only 'employee' there. they had a really great blues singer and horn there. oh he was very good! we stayed longer than we expected. the sad thing is there was only us there! they really need to do something about the atmosphere in that bar if they want to get more people in to see the great shows they have!
It was too hot for us to go in the pool, but people were using it. the second pool was closed for a couple of days , but did reopen. the jucczzi was closed. The staff was great! Mrs Johnson was very nice and very accomadating to us. I would suggest this place if you like quiet and are not afraid of an older place. the place was very very clean! inside and out!
oh, they have a massuse too, but we did not use....

Room Tip: Rooms off the lobby on the ground floor seem to be the newest renovated rooms.

The place is really old and outdated. All appliances in the kitchen as well as the furniture was worn out. Even though we only stayed for two nights I could not wait to get out of there. To make matters worse the management closed down one of the pools for almost a whole day on Saturday and when it was reopened the pool was filthy. It was soo murky that you couldn't see your own hand and there was leaves everywhere. It was soo bad that i noticed another guest grab the pool cleaner to do the job themselves. Lastly, we could not even take a decent shower after the pool debacle because there was no maid service so we could not get fresh towels. Apparently, you can get fresh towels every other day. I was very dissatisfied. Worst timeshare ever.
