“Great Stay!”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

Prime location on North Palm Canyon Drive! Everything was within walking distance, and the shuttle was always available if we needed a pick-up or drop-off. This was our first trip out to Palm Springs, and choosing the Hyatt Palm Springs was the best decision. Lots of shopping and restaurants to choose from, and we got to attend Village Fest which was a blast.
We cannot say enough about the staff, who were so efficient and warm. Esther at the front desk is a marvel--talk about non-stop energy, elegance, and polish! Her presence made our stay that much more enjoyable. We stayed 6 days, and every time we turned around--there she was--either greeting customers in person or on the phone (we even teased her about whether or not she ever got any sleep!)
The hotel is beautiful, and seems to be in the midst of more renovations...our room was gorgeous and spacious, and really felt like home away from home (high praise indeed).
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!
p.s--special mention to the hard-working valet team (thanks for the shuttle service)

Room Tip: The mountain views are incredible :-)

Its been nearly 20 years since I last visited this hotel and I was looking forward to it. First of all let me say that this hotel is in a great location and I can't say enough about how helpful the hotel staff are. It could be that the desert heat causes a lot of wear and tear on the building, however it definitely needs a face lift. Elevators are extremely slow and need to be replaced. The rooms are very large and well appointed.
In my travels it has been my experience that the hotel lobby's tend to look great and the hotel rooms then turn out to be a disappointment. In this case the reverse is true.

Staff is nice, but not very efficient. Had to call many times to get enough towels. They only gave us 3 towels, even if though I registered 4 guests. I must say, after sending emails to Hyatt as a Hyatt member they did credit me points.

Room Tip: The mountain view was amazing!

Stayed for 10 nights from 24 May 2013 - our 2nd stay. Had a very spacious king suite on floor 6 with terrific views of mountains, golf course and pool from our balcony. Hotel is located in the heart of PS which is great for the Thursday night markets which are at the front door. Staff are fantastic from Deanna at check-in to Karen at the bar, Jemmy our waitress & RJ and Omar who were always most helpful with valet parking & arranging the hotel shuttle. Our only complaints were the lack of soundproofing - hearing doors slamming, partying in nearby rooms & the loud singing on Thursday/Friday nights from Hoodoo's restaurant/bar which was 6 floors below. Also, staff appeared to be overworked. Great hotel for families but pool is restricted to 40 odd guests at any one time.

Room Tip: Top floor suite facing the pool offers the best views of Palm Springs

I stayed at the Hyatt for a girls' trip and it did not disappoint. They have two pitchers of different flavored fruit infused water combinations at all times in the lobby which I much enjoyed, especially in the Palm Springs heat! And free snacks during happy hour. I believe that is what is covered in the "resort" fee. The rooms were very spacious, modern and clean. Loved the little sitting area in the back. And you really can't beat the location on Palm Canyon Drive. We walked everywhere! It was so convenient.

My only complaints were the parking fees and pool area. For parking, we just parked on side streets near the hotel, avoided the fees, and were thankfully not towed! The pool area is too small for the large hotel and did not have a lot of lounge chairs. That was pretty disappointing. Our group ended up renting a cabana, which wasn't ideal, but atleast we had access to shade/water misters whenever we wanted.

Would definitely stay here again...would maybe just get to the pool sooner next time!!

This hotel is pretty awesome. Overall it's good - pros and cons, but pros FAR outway the cons

Pros
Quiet and huge rooms
CLEAN
fruit infused water (sorry but this is actually pretty awesome) in the lobby
service here is great. the front desk will give you great tips but also arrange for stuff
i've never used it, but there is a shuttle that wil take you around downtown
walking distance from a lot of great restaurants and bars

cons
sometimes, on weekends if you have a room that faces the street you may hear the bar outside.

overall, i'd say, for the money, this is a GREAT hotel in dt palm springs.

Room Tip: ask to stay AWAY from the street/bar on the corner if you wanna sleep

My family of 4 arrived on Thursday evening and discovered that there was a street fair going on in front of the hotel. We were told that this occurs every Thursday evening except on Thanksgiving. The road was closed to car traffic (parking gargage was still accessable) and vendors where set up for several blocks. It was fun to get out and walk around the main street and to see all the different booths.
The hotel is close to the airport and right in the middle of downtown Palm Springs. The hotel is surrounded by shops and resturants and on the backside of the hotel is the Odonnell Golf Club.
We appreciated the generous size of the two room suite, and the balcony. The rooms including the bathroom are very spacious and well appointed, with the living room having a large desk, a lounging sofa/sleeper, and a second flat screen TV.
The exercise room is sufficient, but in need of some repairs. The window blinds were broken and couldn't be pulled up. Mirrors where in desperate need of cleaning.
Pool and pool area where fine for our needs. We did not eat at the resturants, but we did appreciate the live music coming from the bar.
Even with the parking fee and resort fee, which did seem unnecssary, the hotel was a good value based on the suite size and level of comfort. I would have given the hotel a higher rating, but the hotel is showing signs of wear.
