My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights in a very quiet section of the hotel (next to the smaller pool that is heated like a bathtub during the cooler months. There was a lot we loved about staying here: great room with kitchenette (not stocked for cooking, but great for snacks or having leftovers), beautiful grounds with lots of brick, bikes available for rent, great restaurant, complimentary breakfast and Lavazza coffee from Italy, helpful and friendly folks at the front desk. the weather was great and we enjoyed the singing birds, flowering plants, and the pool being so warm was awesome! If you like cooler water, use the main pool. A couple of suggestions would be to replace the bed (it was like sinking into quicksand) and get new pillows (2 were extremely flat and 2 were heavy and hard). But we enjoyed the central location as it was easy to go into town or we could be in Palm Desert very quickly. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great stay!

My mom and I visited Villa Royale for a quick getaway. We loved the grounds, the staff, and the amenities. Our room and bathroom were clean, the beds a bit on the soft side, and the small shower in need of a bit of cosmetic update. We lounged by the pool and the jacuzzi, and enjoyed the quiet and beautiful surroundings. The breakfast was excellent as well.

This place is a Wow! Originally a retreat for the Hollywood set, the private patios, the secluded nooks, make this quiet property a gem to visit. The bartender mixes some great drinks, and the meal to order in the Europa,is the mushroom risotto with a signature beet salad. There is a private room w/ a cozy fireplace for those cool evenings for up to 12 people. This is a must for those visiting Palm Springs.

Room Tip: room 118 very spacious and cosy fireplace, close to the bar

We spent 3.5 memorable & relaxing days in Villa Royale Inn.
Staff were super friendly & very helpful.
Our room was very lovely and cozy with elegant furniture. I slept better in that bed than my own!
They recommended to see the Tramway, breathtaking scenery and snow at 8,500 feet high!!
We also loved the beautiful & lush grounds, patio with fireplace, and three different court areas with pools & hot tub, and the gorgeous views of the mountains.
Their "Europa" restaurant was so romantic with outdoor seattings, a new chef and reasonable prices!!
Of course Drinks, Coffee and snacks were available all day!!! We just loved the experience and can't wait to go back again... :)

Room Tip: Our room was in the First court which was near the bar & restaurant, and we enjoyed that, and th...

Wow what a great experience! As others have written this place has an amazing feng shui low from the rooms to the pool and natural landscaping. Add in the amazing restaurant the Villa Royale blends the best of SoCal desert cool without being pretentious or trying to be too hip - a very difficult balance to achieve in SoCal hot spots such as PS...

My wife and I stayed here years ago and we still have very fond memories and photos of the warm pool at night under the stars surrounded by the wonderful landscaping and the wonderful rooms! We cannot wait to go back!!

There are hotels and Inns you'd rather forget, but Villa Royale Inn and the highly acclaimed "Europa" Restaurant, has a certain 'something' you'll remember for years to come. We met guests who are 'hooked' on returning each year, for a relaxing getaway or a special celebration or wedding.

As a first time visitor to Palm Springs, the Villa Royale Inn was a welcoming experience to the region. Like other reviews, there is a touch of the "Mediterranean" in the air. The grounds are manicured, sunny and private when needed, with small fountains, private courtyards, overflowing plants and colorful bougainvillea set around the rooms and suites.

There are 2 pools, the larger one is next door to the Villa Royal's "Europa" Restaurant which has brilliant food, a great menu and a talented chef. In summer, dine around the pool or in the restaurant's courtyard under the stars.

After dinner, a nightcap at the bar and chatting with the always friendly staff, make you feel right at home - and there was no rush to get you out of there. Then if you're wanting nightlife, a short 2 minute drive will get you to Palm Springs main strip.

Villa Royale has a Hollywood connection. It was originally the home of 1940's star Sonja Henie, who designed the property to house separate villa's for her movie star friends. Her vision continued by 2 set designers, who made sure the Villa Royale Inn kept its heritage by retaining many of the original fixtures, such as doors, windows, fireplaces, gardens and ceiling beams in the rooms. There was even a working vintage oven in my kitchenette.

Just wish we had more time to enjoy the winter sunshine poolside, it was quiet and totally relaxing during the day - and there were some children who used the other pool, so that was no problem. There's also drinks and snacks if you want during the day. Our 1 bedroom suite was gorgeous, comfy and faced a private garden with fountain, and tables you could eat at, and had its own private courtyard outside the bedroom.

We were shown some of the other suites, all reasonable rates, all very different, with open fires, courtyards , kitchenettes and comfy beds - all very tasteful.

There is a coffee maker in the room, but we preferred to wander outside when we woke up to get our own (free) coffee and tea served before breakfast. The breakfast is very good and there is also free afternoon tea as well.

By the way, the mountains are so beautiful and they look down on the Villa Royale between the palm trees, and garden, every direction you look.

The Villa Royale Inn is a very special experience, and I'm so glad I have discovered this lovely property and the "Europa" Restaurant is an award winning eatery, open to all ages and even if your not a guest, make a booking. The food is delicious and deserves the recognition.

The friendly staff will accommodate to all tastes and all requests, no matter who you are and what you want from your trip.

I'm hoping to return for the Palm Springs Film Festival - and just hope the Villa Royale Inn can fit me in !

Value, fine food, friendly service that goes the extra mile and gorgeous rooms, in an intimate setting. I'll be back for sure.

Room Tip: the 1 bed suites are perfect for couples and are very private. Nice if you want a romantic getaway.
