“great getaway!”
Reviewed June 10, 2009

My boyfriend and I heard about Korakia through a family member and decided to spend our spring break relaxing, away from all the "hot college spots". It was absolutely perfect! We stayed in the Mykonos Suite, which was beautiful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the over sized stone tub was perfect. We didn't leave the property at all when we stayed and the staff was one of the best we've ever experienced. They were always there to see if we needed anything and just to chat. The experience was worth every penny. Make sure you take advantage of Eva's homemade breakfast in the mornings, the pancakes and coffee definitely start your day off on the right foot. Since coming back I've told every family member and every friend, Korakia isn't just a hotel, its the staff, the house cat Agatha, the relaxing sound of waterfalls and fire pits, its a home away from home and I can't wait to go back. Thanks to all the Korakia girls who made our time there unforgettable.

My Wife and I have been coming to Korakia for over ten years and I've NEVER had anything less than an AMAZiNG time- everytime. Our last stay was a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed the upgrades and additions they have done. Everytime we come to this place we feel as though we are coming home to our incredibly chic yet non pretensious desert retreat. The staff is warm, smart and dedicated which adds to the entire "magic" of Korakia.
Granted this place is not for everyone.... and maybe thats why we love it.

Friends had loved Korakia, and I understand the ambiance of the central pool, casual service, open air building, and breakfast in the garden by the street. BUT, what a style ripoff.
Besides which, TWO of our friends staying there had thieves sneak into their room while they were sleeping and steal jewelry. The management did nothing the act or express concern.
We had a upstairs room, that they said was stocked with water and basics, which was not, the bed was so rickety that you couldn't move without waking your partner, the "old" couches and chairs were all creaky and uncomfortable, all in the name of style.
The very old style air conditioner was set in the window right next to the bed, blowing on us like a freezer throughout the night. What a totally overpriced, over stated simple dog of a hotel! Women love the casual rickety style, but there is no comfort with that, and no service or management that cares. By the way, the hotel was sold the next day....

The sweet and relaxing ambience + gorgeous pools + nice staffs + yummy breakfast. We simply enjoyed every single minute during our stay. Thanks Korakia for a wonderful experience.

We had the best time this week-end at Korakia. Everything exceeded our expectations. It is the perfect getaway, and once there--you dont want to leave! From the wonderful staff, to the food to the little details everything was done with ease and elegance. The morning yoga was excellent and I highly recommend it! We cant wait to come back!!! PS- The oranges and the iced tea are amazing.

This is my first time writing a review for Tripadvisor, although I am a Tripadvisor junkie!
Stay at the Korakia. It is the perfect small hotel/b and b in a perfect location, just a few blocks from the heart of downtown Palm Springs, convenient to stores and restaurants yet in a quiet, residential neighborhood. The staff is fantastic - unobtrusive, but always willing to help in any way possible and always kind and lovely. Alyssa, Kendell, Paulette and all the other employees are great!
The rooms are charming, simple and rustic - all are different, but all have wonderful furnishings and interesting details. There are many outside seating areas, so you can read or relax in a variety of places - by the two pools, on a semicircular coach by a waterfall-like fountain with a fire pit warming you in the evenings, on a wooden settee strewn with pillows under an arbor covered by flowering vines, etc.

The breakfasts, which are included, are delicious and are served outside on the front patio with a gurgling fountain as backdrop. The coffee mugs are huge and coffee is served throughout the morning. Later, iced tea is always available and, in the evenings, hot tea is offered.

Complimentary yoga classes on weekend mornings are a great way to start the day! Complimentary movie screenings outside in the evenings are a great way to wind down the day before heading out to dinner.

We loved staying here and hope you will too!

We stayed at Korakia Pensione in January, before it got too crowded and had an enchanting time. In part this was due to the fabulous bedouin suite, which offers a stone tub overlooking a private garden with lemon and orange trees. And Aggie, the pensione's resident cat invited herself in on most evenings adding to the friendly hospitality of the place. We loved the heated pools and the nightly fires, the sweet teas and the sweeter hostesses and most of all, we loved our rain shower. The pensione is minutes from downtown Palm Springs but feels miles away from the touristy feel. We recommend taking our their free bikes for a ride and the Indian Canyon hikes for the palm oases. We later returned for one more day and stayed in the Sahara suite for one night, which was over priced and no where near as charming. Overall though a fabulous experience, especially if you pick your room right.
