this tiny hotel is attached to Melvyn's dining room where there's live entertainment every night and the maitre'd knows your name - whether you've been coming every year for 40 years like the couple at the next table over or you just arrived, like me.
more for the quiet and mature crowd than the partyin', stylin' crowd. though if you're a retro hipster this may be right up your alley. cosy, well-outfitted, clean and classy but not too shiny or spiffed up. recommended for the nostalgic - think 30's, more than 50's.
my room was a 2nd floor mountain view - for $100 (summer is off-off-season). bed was super comfy and romantic. the bathroom seemed relatively newly remodeled. tv was not particularly large or new, but I'm not a big tv consumer.
pool is open 24 hours - great because the nighttime low temp was 80 degrees.
simple but sweet fruit and cheese basket and complimentary beverages in the fridge were a plus!More
