“At last - great Mexican food in a chain”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

A family member, who does not favor such fare, chose this California chain when we insisted on a Mexican lunch. It was absolutely wonderful!

The place is squeaky clean, everything is fresh and I personally tasted the best burrito I ever put in my mouth - Burrito Especial. Other proclaimed the fish tacos as outstanding.

If only they would open up in Florida (home), I would be a regular. This is fast food in grand style.

“Mexican food with a new twist”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2013

Was looking for something a little different, so decided to stop by Rubio's Mexican restaurant. Ordered a chicken bowl salad and it was unusual but really good. Good blend of salad and chicken. Rubio's also lets you choose your own salsa from a selection of four. It was a nice relaxing place for lunch.

“Tasty and Fresh”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

Never ate here before and did not realise it was a "chain" until I saw the back of the menu. Nethertheless, we were very impressed with the food, really tasty and very fresh. We had the fish tacos, and shrimp salad with mandarin dressing, very good. The kids enjoyed their meals too, quesadillas and tacos. (The churros that came with the kids meals seemed a bit stale, (hard), but maybe this is how they should be?????)
Food came quickly, service was very friendly, attentive and helpful.
Bathrooms were clean.
Not expensive.

“Was good but restaurants AC was out.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

Even though the temperature was 122* outside inside it was about 94* and stuffy inside when I asked if the A/C was out the manager said they were on it.....should be fixed soon. by the time we got our food it was oppressively hot and we had to eat very quickly and not enjoy it. The AC Repair man showed up as we were getting ready to leave. Had the staff informed us when we came in or offered us a drink I would not have minded so much or we could have gotten out food to go and eat at the hotel. I think the manager was more worried about loosing customers and $$$ than the comfort of those customers toughing out the heat. The food was excellent just the service pushed this down to average.

“Hooked on Taco Tuesdays!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013

We have become regular Tuesday patrons since we discovered Rubio's about six weeks ago. The fish tacos are an astounding $1.50 after 2:30 pm every Tuesday! They are simply the best fish tacos I have ever eaten, anywhere. They place freshly fried, beer battered Alaskan Pollock on a warm white corn tortilla. It gets drizzled with a zesty white sauce and a splash of salsa. Shredded cabbage sprinkled on top and garnished with a slice of lime. The fresh lime juice truly enhances the flavors. Taco Heaven! The food is ultra fresh and is served with a smile! We have enjoyed everything we have tried so far. Yum!
