“Great for plane lovers and history buffs.”

This museum is located just opposite the Palm Springs Airport entrance but is actually located just off the runway. There are many small wartime planes to view and a few you can actually climb inside. You can see planes taking off and landing since the museum is off the runway. They offer bi-plane rides and you can purchase a ride and then watch as your person takes off. There is also a library upstairs with loads of information on various wars. There are also about 15 or so desk top computers where you can play airplane simulator games. If you don't have a coupon this place gives an AAA club discount. Worth stopping by; my 8 yr old really enjoyed.

“Worth Seeing”

This is a gem. We planned to spend an hour going through the museum - ended up more than three hours which could have been extended but for closing time. There are "hands-on" displays and so many planes from various eras; plenty of docents (most of whom are pilots) ready to add interesting anecdotes. We were very fortunate to speak with a pilot who flew over Japan in WWII who had been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. There is a traveling exhibit of Frances Gary Powers' experience as a U2 pilot who spent time in prison in USSR; one item was surprising - a beautiful carpet he made. In addition to the exhibits, there are numerous lectures if you have the time. We certainly recommend this museum - it's great for all ages. There is a gift shop and a restaurant. We looked at the prices in the restaurant and they were very reasonable but we didn't eat there although we plan to do so later.

“If you love old planes.....”

There was a sand storm blowing along the Number 10 Hwy. so we pulled off the Hwy. and stumbled on this place and it was worth it. Lots of old planes from all eras and right on the existing Airport so you can also watch the tourists arriving!!! Fun way to spend a couple of hours and the kids should like it too.

“Very interesting!”

Very good displays and being able to get so close to the aircraft themselves was fantastic. Really nice to even get into the cockpits of several aircraft and the tour inside of the B17 is not to be missed! A great way to spend a few hours.
