We spent 5 hours at the Living Desert Museum. It had beautiful plants that were labeled and lots of birds and butterflies. The African wildlife and bird show were so interesting. We don't normally like these "touristy places" but it was so informative and stunningly beautiful.

Definitely don't miss out on Indian Canyons/Palm Canyon while you're in Palm Springs. If you like to hike but don't have all day, I recommend taking the Victor Trail until it intersects with Palm Canyon Trail. Then take the Palm Canyon trail in. Its about 3 miles. It is a rewarding experience. After the uphill hike in the sun, you'll come down the hill and into this gorgeous canopy of palm trees. It will feel 10 degrees cooler, plus there'll be a breeze. Even if you don't want to hike, you can park and walk into the oasis from the back. It's worth seeing!

The canyons are incredible. Walking paths, palm trees, cool water, unique rock formations... this place has it all. Natural beauty.

Would you could belive a 54 year old woman from flat Chicago with bad knees, a herniated back disk blah blah blah could spend HOURS each day walking these paths ?
Do not miss one of Amerca's most beautifuls treasures.

Murray Canyon takes you away from noise and present life to the point where after 20 minutes you look around and realize that you are in a sacred place. And that's before you get to an actual palm oasis. When was the last time you manouvered your body over a river by stepping on rocks? This is beyond heaven.

If you have another day, the Victor trail of Palm Canyon is exhilarating. I actually turned around but had a smile on my face all the way back to the Trading Post.

This place is so beautiful, peaceful, cool, and unexpected, we came for a pcinic and stayed for several hours. Just past the parking lot, it felt like worlds away from the hot and dusty desert. Our kids played in the stream and we waded in the soft sand. Unknown to most who visit Palm Springs, this is a secret treasure. I'm sure the hike further into the canyon is nice, but there was no need to venture more than 300 feet to immerse ourselves in the natural serenity and beauty.
