“Fabulous shopping from thrift to Saks”
Review of Palm Canyon Drive

Palm Canyon Drive

Strolling up and down the main shopping area of Palm Canyon Drive was heavenly. People were friendly, clothing very inexpensive (yeah, you read that right), cafes and pubs open onto the sidewalks, dogs welcomed onto patio dining areas, lovely historic buildings and architecture. And the awesome Marilyn statue, What a great surprise to not only see it but be able to touch it.
East on PCD were many wonderful thrift shops. Bought lots of stuff but my fave purchase is a pair of knee high white 4 inch stiletto boots.

Although it obviously caters to the tourist crowd, it is well worth a side trip (we travelled from Indio).

We wanted to stroll downtown after dinner but many stores were vacant or closed for the night. We would have liked to find a nice place or two to grab coffee and dessert and people watch.

and so much good art! Most of it priced to match its quality which was wonderful for looking if not buying, Unique and exquisite pieces in all mediums and the chance to talk with friendly and informative attendants who didn't seem to mind our window-shopping at all.

Hikes are guided by Native Americans. Our gentleman was very informative about the canyon, people and his life today. We thought we would be there for 1.5 hours but stayed for 3!
