We took this tour and and got very close to the wind mills. The guide was very knowledgeable and knew what he was talkign about. Do take a hat and mask as it does get very hot and dusty on the ride.

“The future is here”

When in Palm Springs be sure to sign up for the tour of the Wind Turbine Farms. It is very enlightning and informative - well worth the price. I learned so much about wind energy and how the industry is protecting the wildlife wherever they put up wind farms. The name of the tour is P.S. Windmill Tours and More. Reservations are required. The Visitor Center has a leaflet entitled The Best of the Best Tours- the back gives info on how to book the tour. The guide was an expert and very entertaining.

Drive through this ever other week. These are awesome no matter how many times you see them. The sheer sight of something this big does tend to make you feel intimidated

“On our drive”
Reviewed June 16, 2012

We split our stay in the area to two nights in Palm Springs and one night in Desert Springs so got to drive past the windmill farm. Not sure whether worth a special drive there, but, was definitely worth a look and picture.
