Great place, but not bike friendly, no places to lock your bike, we found a sign to use.
$11 for seniors $15 general public. We happened to show up right when the Docent tour started. There are 4 floors, the top three were added to the original building by the same architect years later. Cool blown glass exiibit, a great variety of modern art. Even a Picaso sculpture was present. As always, art is so subjective, sometimes you wonder why it is hanging in the museum, like the huge maroonish mural on the second floor they like to rave about. Overall entertaining, learned stuff from Docent that I would not have, although that came with a price of a bunch of stuff I did not want to hear :-)

This museum provides a spacious area in its several galleries, and it provides a good variety of art -- ranging from "modern" to ancient, and from Old World to New World. Useful descriptive placards accompany several of the exhibits, but others have no description, which presents challenges for those of us who are not familiar with the art. And, on another note, I question how some of the exhibits qualify as art, much less art that merits inclusion in a museum. But that's the nature of much "modern" "art."

This museum is well equipped ... spacious galleries, comfortable theater, pleasant little cafe, free parking ... we have never been disappointed by the exhibitions, which are always well conceived, introduce work we didn't previously know, and beautifully installed.

My favorite here was the Alexander Girard exhibit. Brilliant display with the most interesting (to me) showing his imaginary Republic of Fife, where he created alphabet, language, calendar, money, maps, etc.

My second favorite was the bench with a couple of permanent visitors. They were so lifelike, I expected to see them move if I stared long enough.

Loved this museum. The 2 docents were superlative. Fun gift shop with creative and whimsical merchandise. Highly recommend. Tons of free parking.
