In looking at Trip Advisor and Open Table we decided to try Backstreet Bistro. We sat outside under the heat lamps and it was very delightful. My husband had the veal and I had eggplant parm, which is a favorite. The staff, manager included, came by several times to make sure everything was OK. This is a little local place in a shopping center that you would drive by a million times...but next time you need to stop! Very reasonable prices, good food, and attentive staff. What else could you ask for?

My husband and I visited Backstreet Bistro both for a Happy Hour and again later for dinner during a vacation in October. We enjoyed the experience both times. We were pleasantly surprised with the Happy Hour food, and returned for dinner the next evening. The food and service were both outstanding. The menu offers a nice selection, reasonable prices and the staff offers good suggestions for both food and drink. The restaurant is very pleasant with a very nice patio as well as a cozy dining area inside. It is easy to find off El Paseo with convenient parking.

Have always enjoyed this restaurant and our recent experiences and did not disappoint. Their breakfasts on the patio are great and the selection of food please even the fussiest. We took a group of very picky eaters to share breakfast with us and all, including the children were happy. The staff, most of which have been there quite awhile, are so accommodating and will make every effort to please. The food is really good and there are some great choices for all meals. I particularly loved the hamburger on a bed of greens...so good and perfect for those who don't want a lot of bread. The Saturday lunch with Jazz is wonderful, but reservations are really necessary...it's very popular.

Dinner here was lovely. We ate on the outdoor Patio which was roomy and comfortable. The service was excellent with good suggestions for wine when the bottle we originally chose was not available - they are in the process of changing their, already, diverse wine list. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced, although I was a little disappointed by the size of my serving - Lobster Raviolli came with six Raviolli. My wife had an evening special; mussel's and clam pasta with a choice of sauces - a tomato garlic sauce with linguini. She liked the portion - "it wasn't too much." The best of all was the reasonable price of the meal; two entrees, bottle of wine, house salad (to start) and desert for under $100.

We have eaten here on a few occasions and find this to be a quaint little restaurant with a nice exterior dining patio. The place is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and they have cocktails and live jazz (at times; check to be sure if it matters to you). The menu is a mix of sandwiches, salads and standard faire. The prices are fair and the service was so-so.
