Atmosphere was great, service was impeccable, food was iffy and high priced. Our first indication this would not go well, was when we ordered a top shelf whiskey and all they had was Woodfords and charged us $12 for a serving. I know it's a 'wine' restaurant, but really? We just weren't inspired by the high priced entrees so we decided to do appetizers before we committed to ordering full meal. My husband got the duck confit tacos which we were told was their number one request. Crispy, fun shell, but…..yeah, just duck. Not so good. I had a crab/shrimp cake with a heavy breading. Didn't compare favorably to east coast seafood which I love, so strike two. The one redeeming thing was the beet salad. Quite nice presentation and was delicious blend of flavors (goat cheese, dates--but only one per salad, cucumbers, picked red onion and a wonderful dressing). The bread and butter was also very good. Crispy crust and moist inside. Paid our $100 bill (with tip) for some snacks and shot of bad whiskey and moved on for entree, to another restaurant. The service staff was extremely good though, except greeter which was a bit snobby--and yes, we made a reservation.

Made reservation a week in advance, based on internet research. Hostess that made reservation and subsequent modification was super friendly and accommodating. Party of 13 dined together on patio, warmed with heaters. From the time we arrived to the time we left, everything was superb. We had a knowledgeable server, both in wine and food, who was fun, too. He answered questions, as well as made suggestions. Our food and wine were wonderful, as well. In fact, most plates at the table were completely empty when time came to clear table. Our entrees included an awesome ahi tuna, with edamame, cukes and hearts of palm; a 36-hour braised pork shank that my husband thought might be the best thing he had ever eaten and we have eaten at some of the best restaurants up and down the east and west coasts. The sea scallops and swordfish were very much enjoyed, as well as a steak for a non-seafood lover. We also enjoyed sharing a few desserts and they were all fabulous!! We would definately go back, and would definately recommend to others!

After enjoying a movie, my wife and friends went directly to the Cork Tree for dinner. We arrive at 8:45 p.m. Even though late, with the closing time of 10 p.m., service was perfect. I enjoyed a Prime rib and an excellent Malbec to match. The restaurant crowd had thinned by the time that we arrived after seeing the three hour movie "The Wolf of Wall Street". Service was perfect and so was the food. Highly recommend for beef dishes. Very large wine stock; excellent wines!
