The wine, the service, the overall presentation of the meal. Just excellent. To start, we arrived with no reservations ( two of us) and the staff immediately surveyed a table that was going to be ready shortly. We were seated within minutes. The resteraunt was extremely busy on a Friday night and the staff were all on their game. Butternut squash soup appetizer with a "mini" grilled cheese on rye for dipping was great. The soup was light and flavorful. "Chef Herve's 36 hour pork shank " paired with an Argentine Malbec was out of this world ! My wife ordered the scallops. They were large and prepared over pasta in a light sauce. Delicious! Desert was Banana Split "Cork Tree style" . This is not your average obnoxious Bananna split. It's prepared with a chocolate mousse cake and a piece of Carmelized Bananna. A small taste of vanilla ice cream and a light, sweet cherry sauce. WOW !
If you are in Palm Desert ; check this place out. You won't regret it. Chef Herve made it a point to stop by our table as he passed through the dining room and enjoyed the flattery I'm sure. Bravo Cork Tree ! Two thumbs up.
