We grabbed a room here in a pinch when we were forced to spend an extra day in the area. The staff was very courteous and helpful, the room serviceable. It's a little outdated, but clean and kind of hip in a retro sort of way. I loved being able to leave the balcony doors open to listen to the water outside while falling asleep.

The room was outfitted with a complete kitchen, sitting area, sleeping area, TV and a bath with separate vanity. The restaurant was closed while we were there, but the pool was huge, inviting and unpopulated.

This is a great place for an extended stay, where you'd like to eat in on occasion. Kids would be a little bored, but the pool might counter that. Weddings and conventions would find the lodging useful. Thanks to an internet deal, the accommodations were inexpensive given the fact that we were in the Palm Springs area.

Very nice. Rooms felt like a bed & breakfast -very homey and comfortable. Place seemed a tad outdated, but it grew on me after a few hours. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, good location from Paseo shops. I left there really liking the hotel.

Stayed at this resort for a couple of days in October to get away from the gloom of Long Beach. My wife, 3 year old daughter and myself found this resort through tripadvisor and read the reviews. They were all right. We started by getting our reservation by talking to Monica who was completely professional on the phone and answered all our questions.
We arrived early and were greeted at the desk by Monica and Laura. They both greeted us with a warm smile and instructed us about the resort and showed us to our room. This resort is a combination of privately owned condos that are rented out daily or weekly. We got a studio by the large figure eight pool and were impressed by the size, nothing overly fancy but nice. The resort is quiet and well maintained with flowers and trees everywhere. The pool water is synthetic salt water and was well heated. There is also a small cafe and fitness area that we used. Parking was also easy as we parked right by our unit. This resort is especially known for it's tennis as there were about twenty courts to play on. Basketball and volleyball are also available.
I highly recommend this place for families or couples who want to relax or just get away for some Palm Desert sun. Thanks for a truly wonderful experience.

I was so pleasantly surprised at how great the Shadow Mountain Resort is. I got a room for 3 friends on Orbitz for about $100/night for two twin beds. We were expecting a semi-dump but when we got to the resort, it was gated and very nice. Check-in was a breeze and we scoped out the large pool and got giddy with excitement. We had our own COVERED parking spot (!) and when we opened our room, our jaws dropped. The rooms are like apartments with so much space and such a comfortable, live-in feeling. Our room is considered the smallest (studio) but it was quite spacious and large and we could have easily fit in two more friends. The couch was a pull-out bed, there is a kitchen with utensils, a nice-sized patio to smoke outside. The bathroom is pretty small but nothing egregious. Accomodations and cleaning were good. The next day we hit the pool and it was wonderful. It was not too crowded and there were lots of families, creating a safe, friendly environment. The whole place is a joy to be at. From now on, I plan to stay at the Shadow Mountain Resort. Like someone said previously, its not the Ritz (don't expect lavish amenities and expensive restaurants on site) but it is very affordable, comfortable, convenient, and friendly, and I would recommend for parties AND families alike.

Everyone had a great time! It had been 10 years since our last visit. With our 2 boys age 13 & 9 we stayed in a 2-bdrm unit near the pool. The greenbelt with volleyball/badminton nets was right out front. Tennis lessons for the boys were easy to arrange; access to the courts couldn't be easier, just walk on. We discovered the basketball court for even more fun.

The rooms are simple. Each unit has an outdoor patio with a grill. The bathrooms are very modest, clean. The kitchen was adequate, no sponge for the sink and who would put that small a waste basket in their kitchen?

We felt the accommodations were a great bargain, but not all is perfect in paradise. The master bath had a burned out light, one of two, certainly noticeable before our arrival. Once we asked it was promptly replaced. The daily maid service declined over our 4 night stay, even though we left $5 on the pillow each morning. Little things, like a roll of toilet paper, coffee and towels in the kitchen, wash towels in the bath; each day there was less service. Wireless networking is not accessible from the rooms, you must walk your laptop to the lobby for a free connection.

Everyone on the property was very pleasant, from the front desk staff to the security guard. The residents were all very cheerful, everyone greets you with a hello.

The best feature: we walked to town each night for dinner.

I would definitely return, and sooner than 10 years. Consider this a lovely and simple alternative to the mega 10-story resorts that abound.

We just returned from a short stay in a 2BR Condo at Shadow Mountain. The accommodations were spacious, clean and the kitchen was a very pleasant surprise - full sized refrig, microwave dishwasher. This is NOT the Ritz - it's not luxurious - but it was very comfortable and exceeded our expectations.
The tennis program was truly outstainding. The pros are amiable, hard-working and really know what they're doing - they helped all of us (my wife, my 17-year-old son, and me) improve our games significantly in just a few days worth of clinics. The courts are wonderful, and the setting is beautiful. We would go back any time.

My family and I stayed at the Palm Desert resort a few years ago, however, I remember it like yesterday. Matt, the gentleman that we dealt with, was most gracious and accomodating. The room was clean, the pool was amazing and any staff our family ran into, we received a pleasant "hello". Wonderful landscaping. Just a great place to relax!
