Overall, I thought that the accommodations here were quite good. We had a lot of room, however the appliances were not state of the art and the decor was mediocre. However, I was very pleased that they offered free high-speed internet which performed very well. However, I am quite disappointed that they quoted us around $200 to use the pool at the main JW Marriott.

Went on a weekend bachelorette party and found worms (magots) on the couch in the living room area when we came back from the pool. The hotel did give us a new villa, but disgusting! They went in with bug spray and booked another family into that villa when we left. We received almost a night free and some free pool passes ($15.00 to hang out at the main JW Marriott Pool). Our friends condo had the exact same thing happen to them, but the worms were in their bedrooms and suitcases. I would never book this hotel again EVER!

We were very pleased with our stay at the Desert Springs Villas I. We were a bit apprehensive because of some reviews saying that the villas were old. Our unit was very nice, on the golf course, so we could go out to the balcony and enjoy the greens, the birds, ducks, and watch the golfers go by. It was wonderful!!

The apartment itself was very very comfortable, renovated, and did not feel at all dated. The size was great - approximately 100 sqm. Very comfortable living room to relax in the L shaped sofa, watch TV, or enjoy the fireplace, weather permitting. It had a washer, dryer, ironing board. Kitchen was excellent - well provided with basic cooking/dining needs. Very clean. Dining table very good. Bedroom very nice, with a door leading to the balcony. Comfortable king sized bed, nice pillows, beddings. A bit strange to have a tub in the bedroom, they shouldve put a door to separate that. But different strokes for different strokes, I suppose. The bathroom was a bit dated, but very good condition.

I would return to this place and recommend it to anyone.

Since we only stayed overnight though, I cannot comment on the resort facilities. But the accommodations were excellent - very comfortable.

We own 2 weeks in DSI. Bought for hotel access at the JW and room sizes are the best. After they screwed the owners by removing resort privileges, yes.. it turns out we always paid a sum for this.. but the management decided to keep that amount and not reduce the maintenance fee. Last 2 years I have reported numerous defects. Never gets fixed on first call. Something is going on, maybe lax management? Seems the turnover is high so they play like a government and ignore the peoples needs. Even security is a joke. I took pictures of fence breeches and then I got their attention. Want to get in? Just drive to gate as an owner and wave your menu from Papa Dan's pizza. Worked all the time. Smile and wave, like they do to me. Wifi.. Joke. New ISP, 1 bar maybe for entire stay.

We recently stayed at the Marriott Desert Palms property in the Palm Desert with twin 5 year olds, their grandparents and we parents. After a booking snafu where the grandparent's room was not reserved by the hotel (but it was confirmed via email upon booking), and being booked into the Villas I, when we booked into the Villas II, we were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the room, the privacy of the views and the comfortable beds. We were told that the softgoods had all been upgraded and it showed. A nice surprise were the in-room laundry facilities which weren't stated on the website. The master bath and shower were huge. There are two full vanity areas. The furniture, bedding and draperies all seemed new. The carpets did not and had a few worn spots, but were in ok shape. The appliances are due for an upgrade in the near future and they need it along with the cabinets which are chipped and don't close well. Once this is done, this will be a really fantastic place to stay for a family. The air conditioning units were very quiet and when the slider is open they automatically shut down. We booked a 2 bedroom suite which consisted of one large one bedroom suite and a second studio-type room that was accessed from a common foyer. All of the doors were easily propped open and didn't automatically close, so it really did become a full 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite. Their TV was brand new as was the DVD player, but the cable service was terrible for youngsters as their line up didn't have a single channel appropriate for little ones like Nick Jr or PBS kids.

The beds and pillows are truly amongst the most comfortable I've ever slept in and our corner unit on the golf course (which we changed to when they originally tried to book us into a roadside unit), had a gorgeous mountain/golf course view. The Palmeras pool is a short car ride or free shuttle away and is great for little ones as it is shallow and large. The craft program in the Sandcastle is fantastic for kids.

One small thing about the cleanliness rating. We found the room to be quite clean, but the maid service missed an empty water bottle behind a chair and a glass case with sunglasses between the bed and bedside table. The bathroom was spotless.

The spa in the neighboring Marriott Desert Springs hotel is fantastic.

Overall, we would definitely stay there again and have been generally pleased with the Marriott timeshare properties we have stayed in.
