“Good French resto”
Reviewed May 22, 2014

We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary with friends at Le Paon. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and our wine by the glass. We were disappointed that the waiter could not give us 2 bills for a table of 4.

“Contemporary French flair”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

Read many Trip Advisor reviews before we went....diners either loved it all, or generally not at all. Well, we really liked it....a high end French restaurant for nice occasions.
Central El Paseo location in Palm Desert with an outdoor patio. Super friendly efficient valet attendant. Table ready, service spot on. Escargot nicely done, vegetable cream soup very good. Tournadoes of Beef Neptune with crab and Béarnaise was tender, halibut in light lemon sauce was a thick, moist, melt in your mouth delight. The best was the Grand Marnier soufflé, which I shared but easily could have greedily eaten the whole thing! Owner and chef visited tableside to ensure all was good. Downside is pricey wines as there is no corkage.

“Excellent meal, excellent service”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

Very professional service. Meal was excellent. We had Dover sole and the waiter filleted the fish at our table. Did not find one bone not even a small one.
Pricy but well worth it if you are looking for service above and beyond.

“Beautiful location but missteps”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

Le Paon has a lot going for it. It has a beautiful lcoation overlooking the colourful El Paseo in Palm Desert and it has a long history in the community. Before the CA ban it was a great place to go for foie gras.
This time however the service and food was not outstanding and as there is no corkage one can expect expensive wines to increase your bill.
Our experience recently suggested that they need more attention to detail. We advised that my wife is gluten and dairy intolerant. The appetizer course was properly prepared but the main course was not - causing my wife to become quite sick.
That lack of attention to detail is not excusable and we can not risk visiting again.

“Great ambience--Horrible FOOD”
Reviewed March 23, 2014

Beautiful restaurant extremely poor food. Six of us dined here. Caesar salad at $12.00 per person was not edible. Dover sole at $40.00 was dry and taste less. Dine here only for the ambience not for the food. Suggest the Lavender Bistro, Chop House or Mitch's for better food. We are a local dine around group ,
