“What a delightful place to stay!”
Reviewed January 2, 2010

Friendly staff, very clean, nicely furnished. The lobby/dining areas were warm and inviting. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Our "Welcome Home Reception" (a light meal and beverages Monday through Thursday evenings) was stuffed shells and salad. At breakfast, the waffle maker was having issues, but I imagine they've fixed that by now.

We stayed there Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. We had a great complimentary Internet connection, so we could Skype the far-away grandkids easily. We stayed for free, using Hilton HHonors points, and feel like we got much more value for fewer points than if we'd stayed at the larger Hilton, where we would have spent more points and had to pay for dinner, breakfast, parking and Internet.

We just got back from a seven day stay here over the Christmas Holidays. The staff are very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The rooms are good although we stayed at the Homewood in Anaheim and they seemed a little bigger, with that being said the rooms were alright here. The only disappointing thing was the breakfast, there was not much there and sometimes the food was just not that good. Other then that it was a good place to stay with the family.

I shared a two bedroom suite and each bedroom was the size of a full hotel room with its own desk, tv, vanity area and full bathroom. In the middle was a living room and kitchen. It was a tiny kitchen and I wouldn't want to cook a large meal in it, but was perfect for reheating leftovers or making a quick snack. They had free hot breakfast, free wireless and a printer downstairs for those boarding passes. No extra charges for anything. All of the staff was very friendly.

This cost about 30% less than getting two separate rooms at other hotels, plus it had a kitchen and living room. For the cost, I was extremely impressed. Location is very convenient to the freeway.

This Homewood Suite is the best we have ever stayed at. We have been to two others over past years in different states. First it is great staying in a new hotel. Everything is clean, bright and well kept up at this hotel..The "kinks", that were mentioned in earlier reviews were ironed out. Our computer and cell phone worked great at this Homewood Suites Hotel. The beds (we had two queen sized beds) were very comfortable. It was nice to have a kitchen. The price we got was very reasonable for what we were given. It was nice to have a real livingroom with a big flatscreen TV, as well as a separate bedroom with another flat screen T.V. We ate the "light dinner", which wasn't wonderful, but adequate. Breakfast was fine too. The dinning area is pleasant with TV's and a free newspaper. We felt welcomed and had notbig complaints.

If I tried to find something not perfect here, I would say it is a 10 minute drive to most of the action on Hwy 111. If you wanted to hang around the hotel, there is only the swimming pool and gym to keep you busy. There are no surrounding places to walk to. The other small complaint I have is the sink is separate from the rest of the bathroom, and the sink area opens up to the bedroom, with no door. So, if someone gets up at night, they either have to turn on the light to wash their hands, or wash their hand in the dark to not disturb someone else sleeping.

All in all, this is definitely a hotel we will return to.

My fiance and I chose to stay here for one night (Sat. 11/7/09) somewhat as a fluke. We only ended up here because our "go-to" hotels were sold out since this was last minute. I had never stayed in a Homewood Suites before.

As other reviews mentioned this is a brand new (as of Sept 09) location. Everything is in new condition. Very clean and neat! I was impressed upon walking into the lobby. Decorated in a modern motif with lots of bright colors accenting the subdued river rock pavers. The lobby has a nice sitting area which doubles as the dining area for the reception/breakfast. Hot tea/coffee was available in the buffet area when we arrived at 8PM. There was a small sundry adjacent to the reception desk with a modest supply of essentials should one have forgotten a toohbrush or a snack. Checking in was easy/smooth.

I found it a little odd (but no big deal) that the elevator was down the hall past the business center/conference rooms. Just seemed a little out of the way.

We weren't really expecting a whole lot just a clean comfy place to sleep for the night. What we got was far beyond our expectations. We had a standard studio for $119. I thought it was decent/efficiently sized, especially for just the two of us. Upon entry I could see that the room appeared very tidy, clean, and new. Simply furnished family room area with smaller sofa-bed, end-table, ottoman with large "serving tray" on top and a sitting chair. The kitchen to the immediate right of the entry was fabulous! Hardwood/laminate floor, spacious granite counter with built in two-zone electric stove top, microwave, toaster, full-sized fridge, never used full sized dishwaser, and 4 cup Cuisinart coffee maker. Small dark-wood dining table with three chairs. Cabinets were a handsome dark cherry stain. Not an over abundance of room but certainly more than enough for us. There was also a full dinner setting for four, a few pots/pans, pot holders, dish-towels, bar-qulity opener, and cutting board with knives. I don't recall if there were other cooking untensils. There was a basket of complimentary coffee & teas but I was really impressed with the complimentary microwave pop-corn (I LOVE pop-corn AND little touches like this)! Also inside the basket was a shopping list form which had a list like meat, eggs, milk, and one could check these off and leave with the front desk by 9:00AM for same day grocery dlivery at NO CHARGE! I was very impressed again!

The king bed was wonderful, althogh the pillows were on the soft-side for my preference but easy enough for me to adjust. The vanity dressing area was very nice, granite and dark wood here too. Big mirror and well lit. Closet was adjacent, sliding door with dressing mirror, roomy. Looked to be a couple extra blankets and pillows inside as well as iron/board. The bathroom was simple but very roomy. Full sized shower, I'm 6'1" and found the luxury shower-head to be well overhead. The bath towels were very soft!

Didn't have a chance to check the free in room WiFi.

No view from our room, which wasn't important. This hotel is in a developing center for the satellite campus of UC San Bernardino and is therefore going to be cetrally located to shopping/dining within walking distance. Not a whole lot of that currently though.

We stayed in a junior suite and were highly impressed with just about everything. This is a brand new hotel with wonderful details in the room design that made it easy to be there four days. We were in town for an event and would defiantly stay here again next year.

I really enjoy going over from LA to the desert communities for the day or a night or two.

This time we stayed a night at the brand new Homewood Suite in Palm Desert. As others have pointed out it is new, clean, comfortable and easy accessibility.

We didn't have any serious complaints. Just minor things that were housekeeping type issues - missing a light bulb in one lamp - one TV remote was missing...and the sheets seemed really "scratchy". Other than that it was what one can expect in a Homewood Suite.

We enjoy using Homewood Suites when we are able to and enjoyed being in a brand new one. We had a one bedroom unit. It did seem a bit smaller than other rooms we have stayed in, but for one night it was not a problem.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a pleasant getaway and we would use this Homewood Suite again.
