I love the natural environment, and if your lucky, you spot a beautiful Big Horn Sheep.

So fun to see all the animals up close. Kids got to feed the giraffs. Loved seeing the big raptors. They gave us a lovely tour of the animal hospital as well.
Don't miss the train display!

Our family visited the park during spring break in late March, 2012. By about 11:30 it got really hot and all the vending machines were sold out of water. There are many areas that don't provide much shade. Our kids thought the sprinklers we found in one of the gardens was the highlight of the day. When it does get hot most of the animals seek shelter and it is difficult to see them. We enjoyed feeding the giraffe. The indoor displays were well done. Overall the place is very clean. The parking is free. With the AAA discount it was a pretty reasonable entry fee. My recommendation is to visit the park, but don't go on a hot day! Be prepared to do alot of walking since the shuttles that are available really can't show you a fraction of what you can see on foot.

This zoo is one of my favorites! Desert animals from all over the globe make up the menagerie here. They also have a lovely carousel, a fantastic miniature train world, and a desert nursery. You can take a shuttle thru-out if you aren't up for the walking, and you can also see cactus gardens and other gardens of native flora. The animals are housed humanely, and ther is even a petting zoo for kids. We spent 3 hours and saw all the animals but skipped the garden walks and nursery. Goat 8am even in the spring and fall as the weather heats. Buy a membership and enter at 7am!

The Living Zoo is a wonderful place to check out what really goes on in the desert. The animal life, fauna, and even the arts scene. My friends had their nieces down for a visit and spent the night in the zoo in tents and had a nocturnal tour with zoo staff. Best Zoo around.
