Over the last four years, this restaurant has metamorphosed from being Tuscany, which closed three years ago (and was DEFINITELY 5*) into being Lakeside two years ago, which retained elements of Tuscany and was quite good. This year (approximately 3 months ago) it became an all new Rockwood restaurant, following and on-going $3m refit to the hotel. The new restaurant sets itself up as a classic California, featuring all naturally sourced products. The seafood soup, featuring crab and prawns, is avaialble as a special on Mondays and is definitely looking out for - full of high quality ingredients and SO tasty. The lemon butter chicken was delightful, being light and also full of flavour. It was nice to see some of the same staff we have been attended to before over the last 5 years, still doing a great job and giving good value for money - not cheap, but you get what you pay for ...

Fantastic place for brunch, the lunches and dinners are ok but not amazing. Overall, good food at decent prices but you could probably find better.

Sunday brunch at the Desert Springs Marriott is a desert tradition. It has evolved over the years as the room continues to change. It has now been completely transformed into what is now called the " Rockwood Grill ". The room is beautiful, and the entrance area where the stairs are is much nicer and features a bar.
Unfortunately the food and the prices have also evolved. It is now close to $60 a person.
My favorite part of the brunch used to be the large selection of cold salads. Now it's a few lesser quality ones in a metal bin . Remember the different house cured salmons? Now it's just lox.
There are now only two hot entrees , a chicken and a fish. They had a " spring vegis " hot dish which consisted of potatoes and carrots only. Of course theY still have the standard pasta, sliced meat and omelette station. Fortunately the Sushi station survives.
The desserts are still great.
This remains the valleys best brunch, even if it isn't as good as it used to be.

We ate here and did the buffet and it was not that good at all. I expect more, especially when it costs $25/person for the buffet. Won't eat there again.
