I work with the team at the jeep company on a regular basis and take the tours all the time with clients from around the country. ALL of them are awed by the natural beauty of the San Andreas Fault and Metate Ranch as well as the Palm Oasis. The knowledge of the guides is 2nd to none.

Go for it!

Went dune bashing with Desert Adventures. A good laugh, but as someone else has said, if you are prone to motion sickness prepare for it or don't go. I would also say that if you are pregnant or have any serious back or neck problems think twice. Also young children might not enjoy it. The scenery is really quite beautiful and if there is any wind at all you will soon feel the effects of being sand blasted. Take sunglasses for sure and perhaps a scarf to wrap around your face. The camel ride is so so as it is basically a few minutes riding around in a circle. Food at the encampment was very nice - grilled meats and salad. Would definitely recommend this as a must do if you visit Dubai.

Our guide,John, was amazing
We learned so much about the area as well
Ask for John as he has so much info to share
They supply water as it gets so hot in the desert
Thanks for the best tour ever

Great way to spend 3 hours! We chose the Nightwatch tour to avoid the afternoon sun but I think this would be fun any time of day - lots of breeze in the valley. This tour has quite a bit to see and explore - the slot canyon was fabulous. Kids will like riding in the jeep and exploring the indian camp and mining town. We were lucky enough to have a fairly full moon - which dampened the star gazing but made the mining town more magical. This is a great activity for individuals of all ages and worth the time.

Russ our guide was a lively competent and friendly companion. He leaded us to fascinating places of the Desert related to the San Andreas Fold Line. His knowledge ranged from geology to the botany of the area and he also explains how the native used the diverse plans for their survival and cultural enrichment.
The highlight was a climb to the top of a hillside on the Fold Line that presented us with a breathtaking few of the surrounding.
