Was drawn to the company because they are "eco" and the San Andreas fault. You are skirred around in fun little red jeeps in groups of 6-7. Each group has it's own guide which makes for both a personal and intimate experience. We traveled with Carlos who enthusiastically answered all of our questions so throughly the tour ran over it's alloted time. He provided the children in the group a bonus experience by guiding them on a rock wall climb (with parental permission of course). There is much to learn about geology and native American culture. We walked away from the tour smarter and feeling like we had made a friend. Thanks Carlos.

With a group of almost 35, Desert Adventures picked us up at our hotel, provided a fun filled, adventurous tour of the San Andreas Fault in the desert and even stopped by an agriculture site which was of interest to our group. We even climbed a hill for a bit while learning about local species and vegetation. We didn't carivan but all went separate ways in predetermined routes as not to crowd each other. I could not have been more pleased with the attentiveness to detail, with each jeep singing praise about their tour guide. We travelled through a privately own area where Desert Adventures has exclusive rights. We stopped in their desert ghost town area for a short visit and potty break. They provided water and granola bars for those who wanted them. Except for the cooler weather we were experiencing in the early morning, it was a most enjoyable trip (organized by Mary Dungans and followed up by Khail Keeler)

My partner and I were spending the week of Spring Break (I am a Junior High Teacher) in Palm Springs. On the weekends, the parking lot of the casino in town holds a craft/art fair. One of the booths at this show was Desert Adventures and we met Bob Gross. We talked to Bob for quite awhile and decided to take a tour of the San Andreas Fault with him later in the week. The tour we took was wonderful and was extremely educational as well as fun. Even though I am a science teacher and teach the topic of Plate Techtonics, Bob was insightful and taught me many things that even I did not know. Our tour had 5 customers and the ages ranged from high school through a senior citizen and everyone enjoyed the experience with Bob. I would recommend this tour--and Bob--without hesitation no matter what your science knowledge is on this topic!

I took two 16 year olds on this tour and we had a new tour guide. the guide was very nice, but fumbled a lot and even admitted that he should have studied that weekend. We learned a lot about plants and the kids loved the hike up through the rocks.... the guide was a bit out of shape and I was a little worried about him when he came down from the rocks. The teenagers were bored listening about plants, but perked up when learning about earthquakes. Granola bars were not handed out on the trip so we wish we had brought our own snacks.
