“Pala Hotel for one night trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

We decided on a one nighter for a Thursday night. We had friends that arrived the night before and met up with them.

The room was fabulous as usual. We were on the 10th floor (top) with two queens. Our view was of the top of the hotel parking garage. The beds were cozy comfy and the bathroom was beyond average. There is separate tub and a shower. I love having bubble baths at this property!

Thursday, we dined at the food court. The french dip I got was huge and I was only able to eat half. My husband liked his pastrami sammich. Friday, we had lunch/brunch at the buffet. This is one of my husband's favorite buffets. They serve Kilbaska and Hotdogs! It doesn't get any better than that as far as he is concerned. I, however, had the baron of beef (beautifully rare) and oysters, and shrimp and lots of other goodies.

The casino floor was fun, but of course, no big wins to speak of. :)
We will be back. It is a toss up between Pala and Harrah's Rincon - we like both, but we'll go to the place that gives us better room rates.

Someone stole elderly fathers slot ticket. After 45 minutes security confirmed they saw it on tape.....the casino did not even off to compensate him even with a token amount and he was so disappointed we did not stay and we just left. We stayed at Harrah's and had a great experience.

Love this place. Great restaurants, clean beautiful rooms, friendly personnel with a casino attached. A walking trail with fitness stops, a day spa & fitness centre. A beautiful pool & spa. (Caution, check date of travel for use. They have outside concerts that limit use of pool). Nice outside cafe.

Spa is more expensive than most other hotels & disappointing because there is not enough privacy for bathing. Massages are good though.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent, pool side or mountain side. They include coffee & tea and even a bottle...

Green Features: I have allergies and they do a great job at filtering the air and keeping things clean

I live in San Diego so Pala is not that far from me. We have been there several times and have yet to be disappointed in ANYTHING. The rooms are exceptionally clean, the facilities are excellent, and the casino is staffed with friendly people that just want you to have a great time. Last trip up was for a free concert; we began the evening in The Oak Room, the filet mingon will melt in your mouth. Matt was our waiter and provided us with exceptional service. After the concert we played single deck blackjack for about four hours; Israel the pit boss was a hoot to talk to, a very friendly guy. He made sure we were well taken care of (and we were only betting $10 per hand, but were being treated like we were betting $1000 per hand). Before we left the next day we had booked a couples massage; the spa facility is outstanding and the service is in line with the standards set by the rest of the staff at Pala. Don't forget to stop by the sushi place and say hi to the Yoshis!

Room Tip: The Suites come with jacuzzi tubs!

Green Features: There is a clearly marked non-smoking area of the casino, but keep in mind that even though this is in San Diego, it is still an Indian Casino and you can smoke in there.

This casino is a blast. Great music on the weekends pretty much all night! Slot machines pay out good and a single deck for Black Jack still exists here. The weekends are really busy. Glass of wine $4.50. Buffet is in my opinion not that great. The nicer restaurants in the casino hotel have much better food. The casino is separate from the hotel. Valet parking if u need it

We spent a few nights at Pala while attending a family wedding. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and well designed bathroom. The area around the pool was beautiful and the pool was large and warm. Neither my husband or I are smokers and since almost all of the restaurants are in the casino area, we had to run through the smokey casino to get to the restaurants for meals. We enjoyed our time at Pala since we spent time with our family. However, I would not recommend the resort for non gamblers and especially non smokers.

Spent a couple of days at Pala with my wife, two kids ages 9 and 12. We were there for a wedding. Beautiful hotel and nice rooms. If you are there to gamble and spend a lot of money for food, go for it, you'll be happy. Being that the casino is the heart of the grounds, kids cannot go anywhere unattended. My kids could not even leave the elevators to walk to the pool by themselves.while at the pool my daughter wanted to get some water so she went to the pool side food and drink area but was turned away. I had to go get her some water. I understand the limitations placed on the casino by laws, i just want any families to know that this is not a place to take you kids if you want them to have any freedom.
