“Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Pacifica was awesome!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2010

We stayed at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Pacifica the 1st week of June and we had an awesome stay. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay top notch. I want to personally thank Mr. Patel the manager, Maria and Chuck the front desk staff and the housekeeping staff who took care of all our needs!

The hotel was clean and well maintained
Awesome staff
The breakfast was wonderful. There was a variet of fruit, breads, biscuits, bagels, juices, coffee, tea, oatmeal, eggs:scrambled and omelettes(alt days), sausage and bacon (alt days) sausage gravy, yogurt.
Showers with continuous hot water
Jacuzzi tub big enough for 2
comfortable beds
ocean views
Computer in the lobby for guest use. There was internet in the room, but we used the computer downstairs
A deck with 2 tables to enjoy the sunset and ocean view
cookies and mints in the lobby in the afternoon
Laudry room with a stacked washer and dryer 1.75 to wash 1.50 to dry, but the hotel provides the detergent and dryer sheets

Things we enjoyed: The only Taco Bell on the beach. It is unique, but it is still Taco Bell
Monterey and Monterey Bay Aquarium, Half Moon Bay, Yosemite, Napa and Sonoma Valley. Northern Cal is so beautiful make sure you don't just see San Fran... the beauty of it all is outside of San Fran

This is one of the best Holiday Inn Express Hotels my family and I have stayed in. It is located far enough away from the busy city but close enough to go shopping and site seeing. The staff is excellent for everything from directions, restaraunt recommendations and a smile from everyone of them. Rooms are very clean, beds were great. Bonus having a fridge and microwave in the room, with a view of the cove.
I would go back in minute!

We had what they called the Executive full-ocean-view Jacuzzi King suite. It was awesome. The room was very large with a King bed and a sofa sleeper. There were tons of blankets, pillows, and towels, so it could easily sleep 4. The bathroom was large and very clean, with a great shower, in addition to the refillable jacuzzi tub in the main room. There is a small kitchen-type area just inside of the door with a coffee machine, small sink, and small fridge. The hotel itself looks like-new inside with brand new carpets etc.. It sits right behind another motel and Nick's restaurant, but has a nice ocean view anyways. For the price and compared to the others in town this seems like the clear choice,

Lodged here several times - always a great experience. This place is clean and the service is second to none. The rooms are large and comfortable and the staff does an excellent job to make your stay enjoyable. The breakfast was great! Keep up the good work guys - we'll see you again on our next visit.

Our four day stay in Pacifica was wonderful. We were a 20 minute drive from the city with minimum traffic. The hotel is right on Rockaway Beach so you hear the waves at night! They serve a full breakfast buffet with great coffee and choices. The overall service and friendliness of the staff was much appreciated. Bennies are that you do not have to pay valet parking fees like in the city, great pizza delivery, good food at the Gorilla BarBQ nearby and exceptionally clean and fresh. Would return in a heartbeat!

Our family enjoyed a two-night stay here. It was a wonderful travel experience.

Chuck, the personable on-duty manager greeted us on arrival and couldn’t have done more to display outstanding customer service. Chuck was great in offering all necessary info about the hotel and well informed in providing local restaurant options. He also complied with our request for a quiet family room.

Most of the hotel’s king rooms offer south or west ocean view/partial ocean views with no/minimal traffic sound . Our queen/queen room faced north in the building with CA Hwy 1 directly east. The hotel is only a short block off CA Hwy 1 so while road noise was noticeable it wasn’t really irritating. The room’s drapes and double-paned windows helped to deaden truck/motorcycle sounds that came with morning commute drives.

The hotel provided a complimentary buffet breakfast. No, there weren‘t any made to order Denver omelets, but there was variety and good quality - bacon, eggs, fresh fruit, dispenser juices, pastries, hot and cold cereal, hot chocolate for the kids and more.

The courteous, efficient food service attendant was exactly that. The lady diligently worked to keep the buffet appropriately stocked and hot foods fresh while insuring the serving area was kept clean. No raves about the food quality but it was certainly wholesome with good presentation and was an outstanding value as the cost was included with the very competitive room rate..

There were fresh cookies available in the lobby and 24-hour coffee in the food service area. Our grandkids appreciated a chocolate chip cookie when returning to the hotel after exploratory hikes or playing on the beach located directly next to the hotel. The hotel also had a small deck with two tables to take in the beach view. There are photos from the deck on this website.

The hotel‘s first floor off the lobby offers under-cover parking. The hotel’s structure was built to take advantage of the available site. Several hotels are around the Express with one in direct line site of the beach.

That really doesn‘t present a significant drawback to selecting this hotel. A 45-second stroll from the hotel’s entrance will take you to an uncrowded public access beach with beautiful ocean vistas.

There is also an easy hiking path leading from the adjacent beach up a gentle slope for morning strolls. I strongly recommend the walk. Wildflowers along the path were in full bloom during our morning walks. Views from the hill’s summit are breathtaking Sunsets from the beach can be absolutely gorgeous! We were blessed with such sunsets the two nights of our stay.

If a trip to San Francisco may include visits to the San Francisco Zoo, Golden Gate Park, The Presidio or the Golden Gate Bridge, I am totally comfortable in recommending the Pacifica Holiday Inn Express as a lodging choice. It’s an easy drive by car to these west coast attractions via The Great Highway during off-commute times. As an example, we were able to drive to the zoo’s 10 a.m. opening from the hotel at the posted limits in about 15 minutes. The entrance to Golden Gate park is just a few miles beyond the zoo.

This hotel is a great option to the traffic hassles, noise, congestion and high costs that equate to hotel stays in the city of San Francisco.

Over all, I can’t say enough for the staff at the hotel. We had contact with three front desk staff and each provided friendly, courteous and personable service. Our room was comfortable, clean and well lit. We’ll certainly rebook here on our next visit to the San Francisco area.

Happy traveling.

We stayed here on Valentine's Day, and had a lovely stay. The friendliness of the staff far surpassed most hotels where we've stayed in the past. We had a problem with the TV (due to a newish satellite system), and someone was there to fix the problem in minutes. The room was clean, and the bathroom amenities were a cut above many motels. My only small complaint was with the view. Actually, the view was lovely, but the room was not set up so that we could ENJOY the view. In order to watch the ocean, we had to stand at our window and look out. I think a room with a view (which one pays extra for) ought to have seating with a view out a picture window.

Overall, we were very pleased and would stay here again.
