I stay here often, but since my last visit a few things have improved. The bike rentals were amazing. I thought I had seen most of Pacific Grove but being able to now tour the town on a bike instead of walking and driving was a whole new experience. Biking to the little town muesum is a must, The food was still amazing. Always a treat to see what they are serving for an appitizer. The shrimp cocktail was my favorite. For breakfast I always had the scrambled eggs, but I tried the pancakes and boy was that a great move. Everything I have had on the breakfast menu has surpassed my expectations for what comes out of that little kitchen. The room we had this time didnt have any stains on the carpet and we had no problems at all.Very comfortable and didnt make us miss home at all. The staff is always friendly and accomadating. Cant wait to return soon!

Room Tip: Stay in the rooms on left side of the road.

It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the new additions to the Cottage breakfast menu and that you took great advantage of our new bike rentals!!! We have also included waffles on our menu as well and we have had such great responces to these additions. As for the bike rentals, it is a wonderful way to see the area (not to mention saves you money on parking). Hopefully we will see you again soon and you will be able to take another adventure around the area on out bikes!

Great cottage room, view and convenient to the Beach. Breakfast cook-to-order (Ham/Eggs, Eggs Benedict...) and afternoon wine/food. (included I might add). Staff was very friendly and professional. We will definately be back.

We stay at this place once a year, and it's flat-out schizophrenic. On the plus side, the rooms are large, the location is matchless, the grounds, pool, and hot tub are great, there's a charming fireplace that runs on a switch in our room, and free full breakfast and dinner are included. On the down side, the place can be amazingly run-down and poorly maintained. This trip the thermostat in the room didn't work and the room was cold for our entire stay, and the window curtains were literally in shreds, like a dog had been chewing on them. In addition, the free meals are of mediocre to poor quality and exactly the same day in, day out, year in, year out, so after three days you can hardly look at them. If you can catch a rate special and can stand eating the same food every day, it can be a great deal--at their regular prices, pretty pricey for what you get, especially if you want good food and plan to eat out anyway.

Room Tip: Rooms looking out on the cemetery actually have a great view and may be larger. Rooms with fireplaces have that special touch--throw the switch and the fire bursts into life.

It sounds like you are staying on our lodge property, whch unfortunatly will not be rennovated until year end. However, our cottage property rooms have all been updated with new soft good (bedding, Painting, carpet ect...) and have upgraded meal options. The lodge comes complimentry with the buffet breakfast and while it is the same everyday but it is a substantial breakfast. There are always options to upgrade to the cottage meal amenities which include a menu to order from and is chef prepared. We hope to see you back again soon and hope that you take advantage of our wonderful cottage property.

We had a king room with fireplace and balcony. The room was a great value at $109 on a weekend and the room was quite nice. It was a little shabby under the surface but definitely had it's redeeming qualities--the breakfast was awesome and the staff courteous, and the room, while a little worn, was spotless.

Room Tip: The suites looked good and the upper floor rooms have high ceilings.

This facility caters to families with children visiting the popular Monterey Aquarium. This motel is a bit worn out, ready for a major overhaul. Our stay wasn't bad by any means. If you are looking of a quiet weekend, this may not be the place for you.

Room Tip: Facing the adjacent park, lots of deer feeding on the lawn!
