Just checked out today after a 2 week stay.
This is our 3rd time visiting the Pebble Beach Monterey area & this was by far the best lodging we have experienced.
The room were recently renovated, extremely clean, housekeeping staff was
exceptional as was everyone at the front desk. Was told at check out that all returning guests receive a 10% discount off the final bill!!
Great place to stay

We enjoyed our stay at the Olympia Lodge. Our large room appeared to have been recently remodeled. The decor was very nice and the room was bright. There was a large fridge and two sinks. We thought our bed was comfortable and it was good to have a Comcast cable package that we were familiar with. We also had a decent sized patio. There was a basic continental breakfast and the staff agreed to a late checkout without hesitation. The only complaint is that the bathroom was small and plain.

The ideal location is a short walk to the ocean, and not too far from the downtown Pacific Grove area. The drive to downtown Monterrey and Pebble Beach is quick. We would recommend staying at this property.

My boyfriend and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend, with a TravelZoo deal. I think bottom line is that for the price we paid, this place was great, but I wouldn't have wanted to pay more than that after my experience.

The voucher we had from Travelzoo was for all three nights of Labor Day weekend. When we called to make the reservation, we were told all the rooms were booked at that level but we could upgrade and book a room. Not sure if that was true or not, but fine, we'll take the upgrade.

We arrived late Friday night, after 10:00, and the Lodge called to tell us that our key would be in a lockbox outside the office since they were closing at 10:00. That was perfectly fine, but then when we arrived and went to our room, I saw it was two queen beds instead of a king, and since the office was closed, there was no choice but to just go with it. Not their problem that we came late, but frustrating to not get the room we were expecting. Also, the room was on the first floor, had no balcony or patio, and was a very plain room with a small toilet/shower area and no frills. On its own, that's fine, but if I upgraded, then what do the normal rooms look like? Or was this, in fact, not the upgraded room?

Saturday morning, 7:00am, we're awakened to a screaming child, in either the room above us or to the side of us, hard to tell, but sounded like above us. The child was screaming, then the parents were screaming at the child, then the child was wailing, and there were lots of crashes and bangs. Not only was it terrifying to hear, but walls at a lodging establishment should be thick enough that I don't feel like I'm in the same room as the people above me. The screaming work me, but once I was awake, I could hear every word of their conversation and their activities, and had a tough time falling back asleep. This happened all three mornings we were at the Lodge.

Once we got going on Saturday, we stopped in at the front desk to check in, in person. They were under the assumption that we were checking out the next day, instead of Monday. Once we corrected them, they fixed it in the system. On Sunday, we stopped in at the office to see what time check out was on Monday and they again thought we were checking out Sunday. Then on Monday, housekeeping tried to come clean an hour before we were leaving, and we had to tell them that we'd be checking out later and there was no need to clean. Also, the room didn't have any kind of "do not disturb"/"clean now" sign, so we were woken almost every day by housekeeping, and then one of the days, didn't have the room cleaned because they never came back later.

All of that said... the people were nice, apologetic about their mistakes, and the room didn't feel dirty. The breakfast was mediocre, bagels/yogurt/fruit, but that's somewhat standard for continental breakfast. The location was nice, near some great restaurants and not far from the aquarium, cannery row, etc (tho definitely driving distance). I don't think I could justify staying here with the normal prices, but for what we paid, it was a fine experience.

We booked this room on a special and when I called was told all of the lower price rooms were sold. Upon arrival the place was almost vacant. Don't trust them. They will lie and try to up sell you. The continental breakfast was a joke.

It was a tad pricey given the facilities however it was also during one of the busiest weekends of the year for the area since the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance festivities were in full swing. The location is perfect...close to Monterey and to Pebble Beach. The views in the area are outstanding. The room was clean and tidy. The complimentary breakfast was adequate.
