“Not Fancy But Well Priced And In A Good Location.”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

We arrived here late one evening from San Francisco and were looking for a well priced room just for over night. I called many places which for the most basic of motels were not cheap. They were really expensive. Lovers Point had given us the best price over the phone and when we enquired in person were given a discount which sealed the deal. We got a small room on the bottom floor. It was very small and very basic but was clean. Our room had a bit of a hole in the wall and was in need of a repaint etc, but I had read this prior to booking in and perhaps the price reflects this. The location is great- so close to the foreshore and the breakfast in the morning was ample for an 'included in room rate' price. We sat in the sun and watched the resident friendly gull and it was lovely. The staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay again if the rates remain better than their competitors.

It's good to hear that we were able to accommodate your needs on your recent trip from San Francisco. We recently hired a new management company and general manager. We are currently working on renovations.
Your next visit should be more comfortable.

Next to the beach and the nearest entrance of the 17 mile drive is only 5 minutes away. I had a great stay at Lovers Point Inn. It seems a bit old, but it's clean and at a beautiful location.

Tips: 17 mile drive at sunset.

The room we had was tight with two queen beds and they were older and saggy.
We were in the area to sightsee so it was ok for a night. The bathroom was small and the water pressure was poor.
The park across the street was great and the restaurant The Beach House was fantastic.

Wonderful area to walk by the shore and view wildlife! Very pretty! Stayed 2 nights in one room and 1 night in a different room. The rooms were quite different-one much better than the other.
It is not a fancy hotel but the location and the staff (especially Laura) helped make it a very
nice stay.

Room Tip: room 203 was nice

We wanted to stay on the water in Pacific Grove, Ca. When we booked our room we had no idea we would get a 180° view of the ocean. It was so beautiful and romantic. You are literally right at the beach! You could tell the rooms have been newly renovated and they were very clean which I feel is important. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. We now call our stay here our " Best Weekend Ever". It was for my husband's Birthday and we will be back next year. Thank you Lovers Point Inn!

We stayed at Lovers Point for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay! The location is perfect for visiting both Carmel and Monterey whilst Pacific Grove also has a lot to offer on its own. Our room was large with a good view of the sea and very close to a beautiful beach with an outdoor swimming pool and bike/ kayak hire centre. Our stay was great value in comparison to many other hotels in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful and of special note was a lovely member of staff (Ernie)who took his own time to book us into a fantastic local restaurant as we were on our honeymoon. Would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed a one night stay here and were very happy with the facilities and the personnel who we were in contact with. The room was large and well appointed with a good sized bathroom though the washbasin was outside the bathroom. It was quiet and this made for a good night's sleep. There was adjacent parking and a lift to access higher floors.

On arrival we noticed a farmer's market (Monday late afternoon) which was interesting to us as overseas visitors. A nearby street had a range of places to eat, mainly centred on Lighthouse Avenue. As you walked in the area the unique style of the houses was noticeable. There were even small deer wandering in the evening and morning.

Breakfast was served beside the reception. It was simple but adequate. Some chose to take a tray to their room. The outdoor seating would only work in better weather. There was a spray to deter greedy seagulls. On departure we met with a very friendly staff member who checked we'd enjoyed our stay, offered a discount for future visits and saw us safely on our way.

It's a good place to stay for some peace and quiet. There are coastal walks and amazing vistas. There was no bar in Pacific Grove (information from reception) but nearby Monterey would cater for that.

Room Tip: We were on floor 3 maybe floor 1 (ground level) would be distracted by cars parking in front of them...
