“A favorite!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

Every time I'm in town, I eat at Peppers. The food is delicious and it's a great local spot. The Garlic Prawns are delicious--this is my favorite dish, but everyone in my family loves this place and has a different favorite!

“Great meal, very satisfying.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

Peppers Mexicali restaurant in Paficic Grove California have been at their present location for several years. We've been in many times and always have enjoyed the food. The interior decorating is clean and open. Our latest meal was absolutely great! I ordered the Mission Burrito filled with Pork. Wow, I wasn't able to finish it. Served with sides of black beans and spainsh rice, peppers, salad. Guacamole` sauce and sour cream on top. Yummy. This visit was very nice because our wait person was fantastic. They also pour a very glass of wine.

“A real treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2013 via mobile

I'm surprised to read anything negative. We were recommended here by our Air BnB host so it was a genuine Locals call. The service was prompt and friendly, the crowd was mostly local and from all ages; and the food was just delicious Mex-Cali. We had Salmon Tacos and Beef Burrito, all was perfectly fresh, very tasty and we'd definitely go back. YUM!

“Meh.... Value is just not there ...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

The food is decent and the prices are high which is fine except the fish dishes come with very little fish and a lot of filler. Quality ingredients just not enough to justify a decent value.

“Does Mexi-Cali mean "no flavor & overpriced" in Spanish?”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

First of all, we went here due to the excellent reviews, and unfortunately we didn't read far enough since the experience was nothing like we had been told. First of all, we walked in and the hostess was on the phone, then a guy jumped in and sat us, with a regular laminated menu and a paper menu written on in what looked like a teenagers bubbly handwriting. EVERYTHING cost at least $10, even the "chile" which we thought to be an actual chile that turned into what we Americans know to be CHILI. I ordered the Yucatan Snapper, which was pretty much 2 half fillets of grilled fish in chopped can chiles and peppers in a bland red sauce, served with over cooked rice and black beans (with hardly a dollop of Sour cream) They were served with 2 flour tortillas, so we had to ask for more. That entree cost $16!!! The salsa was served in ramekins so you found yourself bombing through it, which looked like a thick chile paste more then a salsa. I never put salt on anything and I had to because I tasted just fish. I didn't eat anything else but the tortilla chips, which, were cold. so obviously they don't make them themselves, if they do, they were just old and sitting off to the side. Not recommended. AT ALL!! Save your money and find the nearest Taco Bell. Least their food is worth a buck.
