Description: Stroll along 17th St., between Lighthouse and Laurel and you will find one of the Peninsula’s favorite spots, La Mia Cucina. This little jewel, with its fresh ambiance and tantalizing menu, is popular with everyone. The colorful European advertising posters that enliven the walls, are “originals, not reproductions.” That phrase is accurate in describing La Mia Cucina itself. From the comfortable linen white decor, accented beautifully by those turn-of-the-century posters, to the hand-crafted entrees and desserts, everything about La Mia Cucina says fresh and original. Owner Michael’s specialty, his ravioli dishes, are a renowned local favorite, and for good reason. They are hand made, with all the care that only a lifetime of creative food combining can bring. In addition to pasta, La Mia Cucina is known for it's fresh fish and meat specials. The desserts are made in-house by his wife Paula and daughter Michaela, and the service is personal and inviting.

Went there for my husband's birthday. Upmarket restaurant. Given free Bruschetta and focaccia with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. My husband had farfalle pasta with Bolognese sauce. I tried the meat and spinach ravioli but had to send it back because the sauce seemed to be just tomato to me. They were very quick to replace and asked what I wanted. I had the same as my husband - delicious. Nice wine, reasonable price (for USA) 8.50 dollars for unbranded Chardonnay or merlot etc. Too full to have dessert. Slightly odd in that it had French posters on the walls. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would definitely go back again.

We are PG locals. Visited La Mia recently with friends and all of us enjoyed the food and excellent service. I would recommend a reservation as the place was packed by the time we started eating. We will definitely return.

Ate here for dinner on a Sunday evening since it was recommended. They have a special of spaghetti and meatballswhich looked good but we opted for the salmon special and the sand dabs. The food was very good! The salmon was cooked well, not overdone, very moist with a good sauce. First time to eat sand dabs and they were lightly dusted and pan fried and delicious! Good wine selections also. A friendly atmosphere- nice but not snooty!

We arrived shortly after 5 when they opened. The hostess informed us that we would need to leave by 6:20 as they were fully booked from then until closing. NO problem. She was very gracious and friendly. The service was fast friendly efficient...the best. The food was the best Italian I have had! Spaghetti Carbonara and lobster ravioli in sherry cream sauce.

Walking in and reading the reviews I had high expectations. The decor is very nice and clean. All the staff wear white shirts and black pants . Our server a gentleman with a beard that’s been there for a while was gracious .
The place is not formal but it’s clean and warm.
We ordered the sausage appetizer and was prepared well. We then had the Sunday night special meatballs and eggplant parmigiana. Our meals came with a house salad at no cost . The wine list was priced fair and the service was really attentive. Soft focaccia bread and a complimentary bruschetta was a nice touch. The desert will display platter looked great but we passed . People were enjoying it . The Owners were cruising the restaurant and checking with people if everything is good . They run a good show
To sum it up , it’s great traditional Italian good , it’s not eclectic. Monterey peninsula prices and the food is good . Surpassingly the noise level was low. We will back soon .
