Description: Stroll along 17th St., between Lighthouse and Laurel and you will find one of the Peninsula’s favorite spots, La Mia Cucina. This little jewel, with its fresh ambiance and tantalizing menu, is popular with everyone. The colorful European advertising posters that enliven the walls, are “originals, not reproductions.” That phrase is accurate in describing La Mia Cucina itself. From the comfortable linen white decor, accented beautifully by those turn-of-the-century posters, to the hand-crafted entrees and desserts, everything about La Mia Cucina says fresh and original. Owner Michael’s specialty, his ravioli dishes, are a renowned local favorite, and for good reason. They are hand made, with all the care that only a lifetime of creative food combining can bring. In addition to pasta, La Mia Cucina is known for it's fresh fish and meat specials. The desserts are made in-house by his wife Paula and daughter Michaela, and the service is personal and inviting.

Walking in and reading the reviews I had high expectations. The decor is very nice and clean. All the staff wear white shirts and black pants . Our server a gentleman with a beard that’s been there for a while was gracious .
The place is not formal but it’s clean and warm.
We ordered the sausage appetizer and was prepared well. We then had the Sunday night special meatballs and eggplant parmigiana. Our meals came with a house salad at no cost . The wine list was priced fair and the service was really attentive. Soft focaccia bread and a complimentary bruschetta was a nice touch. The desert will display platter looked great but we passed . People were enjoying it . The Owners were cruising the restaurant and checking with people if everything is good . They run a good show
To sum it up , it’s great traditional Italian good , it’s not eclectic. Monterey peninsula prices and the food is good . Surpassingly the noise level was low. We will back soon .

It has been a few years since we visited Pacific Grove but we still wax poetic about this place! unfortunately, we didn't discover it right away but once we did, we ate there every night for the rest of our stay. Mike & Paula are fantastic hosts & the food is beyond the pale. We cannot say enough nice things about this place. Every single thing we had there was to die for & we have been to Italy twice. Our particular favorites were the ravioli, lasagna, Caprese salad, spaghetti & meatballs....we could go on and on. Planning another trip to Pacific Grove & will definitely be back to La Mia Cucina!!

The restaurant is quite small but the tables are nicely spaced. We enjoyed the food (Burrata Caprese, Calamari Steak, Eggplant Parmigiana, Meat & Spinach Ravioli). The vegetables were fresh, the food well prepared, and the service was warm and friendly.

It’s hard to know where to start. Start to finish this was the best meal during our recent 4 day trip to Monterey/Pacific Grove. If I could give a rating of 6 I would. The pasta is truly awesome. So delicate, with a range of perfect sauces. My wife’s gnocchi “Mezzo-Mezzo” was possibly the best gnocchi I have tried. Excellent veal, perfectly prepared ravioli. And, as a wonder given the rest of the restaurants we visited, more of a local’s spot (many of the guests greeted the hostess/owner by name) and not “tourist price” expensive. My one caution is to absolutely make a reservation.

Great food, great service! I had the Salmon ravioli special and my wife had the Tortoglioni with sausage. Both were excellent and there was plenty of each. Desserts were outstanding. Good prices for value received. And a hug from the owner and handshake from the chef as we left. Loved it!!
