Stopped at Petra for lunch (as planned) on our trip from San Mateo to 17-mile drive and Carmel. A little tough to find even with the GPS. So. got there a bit late but the owner was gracious to make a meal for us. There was only one other elderly foursome who were regulars and just finishing up their meal.
My wife and I shared a Mezze platter (for 1) and a Lamb shish kabob platter. Both were excellent. The lamb kabobs were succulent and just right. Dolma, falafel, humus, baba ghannoush were delish. Surprised to find their choice of fresh vegies served with the shish kabob platter. And to top it, the Turkish coffee was just like in Istanbul. Had enough left over to pack up for dinner in Carmel.
The restaurant was relatively spaced and cozy and spotless with a TV (showing a nice slideshow of the peninsula and its wildlife) and a working fireplace. The owner (cook) and waitress were friendly and both greeted us and also asked about our experience.
Price of the meal was moderate, especially considering it is Pacific Grove.
Had taken some photos of the place as well as our meal to post here, but somehow managed to lose all my photos of the 2 day trip.
Will be back on our next trip to Carmel and will be sure to take photos again.
