We went to Toasties Cafe on 2/17/13, getting there at 1:30pm. The restaurant closes at 2pm. We were seated right away. It seemed that it took a while before our server came and took our order. All of us ordered breakfast meals. Breakfast meals are offered with their hashbrown potatoes, cottage cheese, tomatoes or 6 small dollar sized pancakes. My husband ordered an omelet. He questioned the server about the hashbrowns as he is allergic to seasoned salt and many potatoes are served with that condiment. Our server assured him that the potatoes were not seasoned. When our meals arrived, the potatotes looked seasoned. Three of us tasted the potatoes and agreed they had seasoned salt on them. We contacted the server and she again assured us there was no seasoning on them but would check with the cook. When she came back, she told us that there WAS seasoned salt on the potatoes. She offered to get him a different side. My husband is a big pancake fan and would have liked to have those six dollar pancakes. However, since it was now nearing 2pm, the kitchen had been shut down. She only offered him fruit, cottage cheese or tomatoes - food already prepared and not needing to be cooked. Our experence with Toasties was a disappointment as my husband had asked about the potatoes while the kitchen was still open. The food we received was average. I would not return here again.
