Everything the four of us had was excellent. Fried oyster starter with kimchi salad was perfect. Scallops and lamb were to die for. Very good wine list at prices that were more than fair.

Delicious food. Samantha was engaging, helpful and so friendly. I loved the scallops and the Upscale Cabernet which uses its profits to support education. I also tried the corn salad...soooooo good! I want the recipe!

We enjoyed our day in Monterey which finished with the 17 mile drive. Our time at the 18th hole of Pebble Beach meant we had to change the time of our reservation. Done without a hassle. Our waitress,Samantha, was knowledgeable, efficient and very friendly. The corn salad was outstanding. I had trout which was cooked to perfection and my wife had scallops which were so good she was unwilling to share to get my opinion. We had a very nice bottle of the UPHOLD Cabernet Sauvignon which was reasonably priced and profits support education. We have only one night in Monterey during a 3 week California Trip, but we are very happy we picked Passion Fish for our dinner.

Dinner was very good. We waited for it to come, however, for quite a bit longer than we expected -- long enough to long for something on which to gnosh while we continued to wait. We asked the waitress when we might be served the customary bread or some such thing while we waited. "You can order a biscuit from the menu," she replied. She of course was just doing her job. But why would a restaurant that prides itself on its wine menu and prices stiff customers for something so customary and pedestrian as a little bread? That kind of petty penny-pinching sits very poorly with us. And the wine, by-the-way, is still too expensive.

This restaurant was a lovely walk from our condo on Oceanview Blvd. The service was efficient and friendly. The food was fabulous. Definitely recommend the spicy fish stew, Dungeness crab salad, halibut, Arctic char, and the panna cotta.
