“Nice place to dine in Pacific Grove”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

The food at Passion Fish tasted as good as some truly excellent restaurants. However I would not rate the food excellent because the food was not plated as nicely as at some equally priced restaurants. The same can be said about the ambience (e.g. paper over the table cloths, casual dinnerware, rooms that had the feel of wide hallways, etc.). The atmosphere was very good but at the price I would expect even nicer surroundings. This is a casual eating place with fine food.

“Top Notch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

The food here is truly amazing, and we fully support their cause for using sustainable, responsibly caught seafood. Speaking of which, that seafood was extremely fresh and delicious... My locally-sourced scallops entree was the best I've had in a long time, perfectly cooked and seasoned.

Also, our server was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the food and wine.

Their wine list is quite extensive, focusing on local producers, but also featuring some fairly unique varietals and wineries from other areas. We especially like their policy of not marking up the wine to typical restaurant levels, which is a really nice touch

We will definitely return

“Was Expecting More...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

Multiple award winner and highly-rated restaurant that, to me, was ohhh-kay... Nothing wrong with anything served, and our server was good too... but really not outstanding, as far as score-to-food-served-ratio is concerned.

It would certainly be a place I'd go to often enough if I lived within a 25-30 minute drive, but not if were to be an hour's drive or more away..

“tasty seafood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

We went in December for dinner without a reservation. Service is friendly and polite. We shared four types of seafood dishes such as fish, scallops, mussels and the food was very tasty and well presented. We walked for about half an hour there from our hotel in Foam st in Monterey. Overall a satisfying meal.

“It's a party in your mouth...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2014

As a local to the area we have had a chance to go to many different restaurants. Passionfish goes to the top of the list. The chef pairs everything together and it is just plain ole fantastic! We all had something different and shared bites...everything was wonderful. I plane to return sooner than later! Make reservations!
