“Worth a try....”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

Passionfish was recommended to us by our B&B as it was nearby. We found the food and service to be excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our scallop appetizer and shared the Breast of Lamb and the Sturgeon. Each dish was nicely prepared and served. We would return if in Pacific Grove again.

“Return to Passionfish”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

We returned to Passionfish this year, our fourth time in the past five years. As Hawaii residents we enjoy returning to one of our favorite restaurants every time we visit Carmel. We like that the food and service has been consistently excellent over the years and feel very comfortable coming back to enjoy my favorite dish.....duck. The wine list has gotten smaller since we first visited but it is still good and the prices are purposely kept close to retail which is very nice.

“Very disappointed”

I didn't like the food. It did not have good taste. We really looked forward to this meal and it was not up to expectations. Over priced and snooty.

“Affordable quality”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

We had a large group, over 20 people and the staff was amazing. If you enjoy wine, allow yourself additional time to view the wine list. It's very impressive. I enjoyed the tilapia, my wife the halibut, my sister in law the scallops and everyone was please with the freshness and how perfectly it was prepared.

“A lovely evening”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

This former pancake house has been transformed into an eatery of note. California casual, but nice enough for a special occasion. We especially enjoyed their commitment to keeping wine prices as close to retail as possible--such a treat! The Brussels sprouts salad sounded so unusual I had to try it and it was great. I tried sturgeon for the first time and if it's this good everywhere, it may become my new favorite fish. My sweetie had the halibut with a mushroom soubise--another something we'd never heard of--that was delectable. Help was knowledgeable and attentive without being snobby or overbearing. We'd definitely go back.
