We came into Pacific Grove (PG to the locals) for a late dinner to find many of the other restaurants with a wait, but walked right into the Red House Cafe. We were greeted by Sylvia, the best waitress I have had for a long time! She was great! She recommended that we start with the Camembert - a lovely cheese appetizer with a fig reduction sauce that came with homemade bread to die for. We had the spinach salad with poached pears - a nice change - with a fabulous balsamic dressing, sweet and tart and fresh. Our halibut was good, crispy, but a bit over cooked. The mashed potatoes were yummy, creamy and a bit garlicky! Our friends had pork tenderloin and that was yummy as well. Overall a fun and delicious dinner!
