Stayed here in August with husband and two teens. We loved Pacific Grove and the motel's location right across from the water. Our room was simple yet clean and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed walking across the street and then on the trail along the coast. Saw sea lions swimming and sunning themselves. Walked to places for breakfast and into the town of Pacific Grove. We found Pacific Grove a nice alternative to staying in Monterey.

This is an old motel and so are the amanities in the rooms. BUT, it has a view to the ocean and is not pricey. The rooms are clean and Frank knows your name and loves to help out. It feels like america 20 years ago.

As soon as you walk in the carpets have off a funky smell, the drapes were gross, the bathroom was clean but super outdated, the beds were really uncomfortable, it's 2017 and our tv was smaller than my computer monitor, there's no fridge, and the walls are hallow you can here everyone above you and beside. The windows were filthy with construction on The backside. For The price and The location I'll just go down The street next time. The location is probably the only reason this place is still standing. It needs a Gordon Ramsay hotel hell episode to bring it back to life. P.s. the cleaning staff barged in my room at 9am after beating on my door with a do not disturb sign on the outside. Do yourself a favor stay somewhere else down the road and park at lovers point if you want to see it that bad.

I visited The Borg every summer in the 60's with Mom and Gram. Just stayed there and nothing has changed since then. The Borg heirs have really gone cheap with the accommodations. We were in #128, oceanside on the second floor with a great ocean view. We found the room to have many negatives however, amongst them: Soiled vinyl curtains, missing cove base, no coffee maker or accessories, no fridge or microwave, no extra pillows, no paper pad or pen and a TV smaller than our computer monitor. Now nostalgia is great to a point, but with the lack of amenities and a $200 a night charge, this place is way overpriced. Hopefully new owners will buy the property, enlarge the rooms, keep it quaint, while at the same time bring it up to Motel 6 standards at least.

Room Tip: If you want a "good room", choose another hotel or BnB...

I stayed here maybe 20 years ago and it was basic maybe a little run down. In July I needed a place to stay in PG for the feast of the lanterns and a family event. Borgs is right across the street from the ocean and lovers point park. You can sit on your balcony or look out ur window and watch the ocean and people on the path across the street. The room was quite comfortable. The bathroom was nice with a fully tiled shower. The room was clean n didnt hav any odd odors. The management was very friendly and so were the people staying in the room nxt door. Together we decorated our part of the balcony with hanging lanterns.
However, there is no fridge, no microwave, no hair dryer, no coffee maker in the room. But, they offer coffee, hot chocolate and tea in the lobby in the morning, the desk will also provide u with a hair dryer and if you need to keep something cold i suggest bringing an ice chest. I recommend the rooms in the front for full ocean view. They have other wings in the back. They also have ample parking. The price was very reasonable compared to other hotels. I am looking forward to staying there again
