The setting was ideal, as was the location. The bed mattress was not the best, as we woke up each morning with a sore back. A continental breakfast...which we had to take back to our "cottage" on a tray...adequate...nothing to write home about. Very close to the beach, which is a plus. Very close to Carmel, if you wish to go visiting. There was one sink, where the fridge and microwave was, which we also had to use to brush our teeth, etc...not ideal. I think we got spoiled with the last place we stayed at, in Los Osos.

We stayed here 3 nights. Having studied the website carefully we were pleasantly surprised when the rooms were a little better than expected. They are really like large hotel rooms with a gas fireplace, good sized fridge and adequate microwave in addition to a flat screen tv. Yes this is more of a motel than a series of individual cottages but that is what we expected. Continental breakfast was available from the office area but you need to carry it back to your room as there is nowhere else to sit down to eat.
A 5 min walk gets you to asilomar beach. A 15-20 walk would get you to pacific grove restaurants. We drove to the Cannery Row area of Monterey to each each night. Carmel was just a 10 min drive and 17 mile drive closer still. We enjoyed our stay here & would have no issues with choosing this place again.

There are no "cottages" here - this is a strip motel of very poor quality with little to recommend it. we stayed in a 2-bedroom "cottage" which had a tiny table and 2 chairs and a loveseat for 2, utensils and plates for 2-- view of the parking lot and a fence, nothing to embellish and not very comfortable. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful -- for example we were 5 minutes after the breakfast time and couldn't get a cup of coffee. We had planned to cook but the "kitchenette" is nothing at all - you could barley microwave food here. All this for the same price as other places with much more to offer nearby -- be cautious: this place is not as it is portrayed on the website!

Hate to recommend this darling little place. I don't want to lose a reservation because it will become so popular I won't be able to get a reservation when I want. The owners and staff are so friendly and wanting to see to your every need, it seems like they remember when the customer/client comes first; refreshing, huh?
We had an awesome room with a kitchenette and a sooooo comfy king bed. After a long day on the Harley, we bought a rotissiery chicken, a loaf of garlic bread, bottle of wine and a ceasar salad at the Safeway on the way in and enjoyed all for dinner in the patio area outside our room. doesn't get any better than that.

Room Tip: Not gonna tell you. Want to be able to get them when I call.

Bide-A-Wee was a lovely surprise! After reading some of the reviews my party and I were a bit concerned about staying here but the place was absolutely fabulous. The cottage was large and accommodated our party of 4 comfortably. The cottage was well furnished and the location was excellent. We only stayed one night but wished we would have stayed longer!
