“A spot so beautiful I had to paint it !”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

It is a well appointed beach with restrooms, not too many people in October with views of the Pacific whose water is as blue as blue can be. White sandy beeches, a place to come back to again and again ....

“Such a Beautiful Place”
Reviewed October 25, 2013

This is a string of beautiful beaches along a lovely walking path.
Each one has its own character. They are different every time we visit.

“Soft Sand and Beautiful Views”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

One of my favorite beaches. Because it is part of the State Park system, it is well cared for and rarely overcrowded. Great views of the total coastline and fun tide pools to poke around at low tide. Plenty of space for a long walk.

“Perfect Spot to Watch the Sunset”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

Maybe I'm just nostalgic because this was the place I saw my first West Coast sunset, but I think it's the perfect spot in the Monterey area to see the sunset. There's a gazebo with a great view. It was gorgeous and quiet.
FYI, the ocean winds are chilly: don't forget a jacket!

“Great Tidepool Beach”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

Any time is a good time to visit Asilomar. The sand is fine, there are usually surfers and there are no crowds. On the southern end of the beach, which is Pebble Beach, Rover can roam off leash although local who use this beach extensively expect dogs to be well-behaved. From the north end of the beach, a boardwalk hugs the ocean and has some wonderful views. This is a great walk in Dec-Jan and Mar-April to watch for grey whale spouts. The central/southern part of the beach also has a boardwalk that leads into Spanish Bay. The beach is also outstanding for tide pools exploration. At both the northern and southern ends of the beach there are exposed rocks at low tide. Check the local paper or your Monterey County Herald app for low tide times.
