Asilomar is a State treasure. There is a lengthy beach trail which offers spectacular views of the ocean surf, the rocks, and occasional beach. This beach is a state park and fortunately has been set-aside for the public to enjoy. it's a must-see in Pacific Grove.

Asilomar Beach is family friendly. We've made forts and castles in the sand, created water channels and pools, found sea life (anemone, hermit crabs, starfish) in the tide pools formed by large rocks which are fun to climb. Or you can just sit and watch the surfers, fishing boats and enjoy the beautiful views.

Really nice beach, we only wish it had not been so foggy - it did not keep us from getting in the rather cool Northern Pacific waters though.

Some of the greatest sunsets on the California Coasts. Pacific Grove has so much to offer, the coastline, the monarch butterfly groves, the nearby aquarium, great restaurants, etc. But the simple beautiful free sunsets remain one of the foremost attractions for me.
