Playing golf at Pacific Grove Municipal Course and a wonderful Lighthouse is on the back nine. Built in 1855, it is the oldest continuously operated lighthouse on the west coast. It even has its original lens. Beautiful.

We walked up the coastal path from the Wharf area, on a warm, sunny, October day, taking in the ocean views along the rugged coastline. We eventually made it to the Lighthouse. Wonderful to see, standing in real nice surroundings. Unfortunately for us, it was closed, but the walk up was well worth the visit here. Could just imagine the fog horn sounding on a foggy day/night. There is car parking here, if you need it.

The old lighthouse is neat, the fog horn will scare you to death on a foggy day, beautiful views of the ocean and the golf links

Limited hours, suggest Thursday when there is not a crowd. Check schedule of hours of operation, as they change throughout the year. Beautiful grounds that are well kept and docents are very knowledgeable about the history. 8 minute video give you a thumbnail history.

Small venue with historical artifacts contained therein. By the looks of it, the area can be used for weddings and other events. Located on a beautiful stretch of Asilomar State Beach. Very serene surroundings, with an adjacent golf course.

Small but beautiful lighthouse with helpful staff, an informative video in the basement and excellent views. Only open in the afternoon!

What makes this lighthouse awesome is that I was able to go inside. There is an 8 minute video to watch that tells about the history too. There are employees if you have any questions. They do request a small donation, but you decide the amount. I think that disabled people may struggle climbing the stairs inside. Otherwise, I think this is an activity everyone would love. Free parking.

I love lighthouses, and this is one of my favorites. The living quarters are charming, with period furnishings. The grounds are peaceful -- there's a bench next to a fountain where you can sit and look out at the ocean. It's worth the visit.
