“Definitely worth a stop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

We didn't even realize there was a lighthouse at the end of Lighthouse Avenue! It's small but historic and worth the stop. $2/adults, $1/children, very worth it. The docents were friendly and knowledgeable. Limited hours (1 - 4 pm when we were in town).

“Take the time to check this out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

We've been down to the Monterey Bay area many times and never checked out this lighthouse until this last trip. This place is a gem. The docents were knowledgeable and brought history to life. The lighthouse rooms that are set up in the 1900 period are thoughtfully arranged and just beautiful. The history of this area is a reminder of how much the state of California has been through. Take the time to visit 1:00 to 4:00 Thursday through Monday. Suggested donation for self guided tour with docents handy to answer questions is 2 dollars and it all goes to refurbishing the lighthouse.

“Worth a look - learn some history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013

Hey this only costs $2 for adults/$1 for kids. The docents are passionate and want to let people know about lighthouses in general and the local history in particular - there are some interesting stories to be heard. The only downside is that since it is a working lighthouse you can't actually go all the way to the top.

“Nice renovation to the Lighthouse”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

Although a small facility, the Point Pinos Lighthouse has recently been renovated (and is still undergoing renovation) and includes a small museum with interesting items on exhibition. It's certainly not a place one would spend hours at, but if nothing else, the view from the property is unbelievable. The volunteers working at the Lighthouse thoroughly enjoy sharing their knowledge with visitors. We were able to see many whales off shore and multiple deer were wandering around the golf course on the other side of the fence. Worth a stop if in the area.
