This was a charming B&B. Our room was lovely with a fireplace and wing-back chairs.
We had a very comfy sleigh bed. The buffet breakfast was excellent. It changed my views on B&Bs. Staff were helpful but not intrusive. Location is excellent. We are looking forward to visiting one of the other Four Sisters Inns.

We recently booked a stay here for one night over Mother's Day weekend. The day we were to check in, they called and told us we'd be getting a free upgrade! We ended up in a carriage house suite which had really nice private bathroom including jacuzzi tub as well as a private deck. We checked in around 5:30 and skipped the wine and munchies so we didn't get to experience that. The check in lady was a little generic, nothing bad, but nothing super hospitable either. she showed us to our room and that was that pretty much. The room, which was on the top floor of the carriage house was very quiet since it doesn't have any shared walls.

The location is very convenient. It's just four or five highly stroll-able blocks to Lover's Point and there are quite a few restaurants within a couple blocks of the inn. Parking is on street only, but we didn't have a problem finding a spot.

One minor word of warning if you are planning on traveling with kids...they put these teddy bears in the room in a rather transparent ploy to sucker parents into buying the cuddly things for kids, so you might just ask them to remove any bears from the room if you want to avoid any campaigning from your kids.

Breakfast had quite a variety of things which all appeared to be good. There were a couple cereal options, a bread basket, yogurt, museli, fresh fruit, home made coffee cake, and an egg dish as well as juices and coffee and tea. They also serve until 10am which is nice if you are there just vege-out and sleep in like we were. For lunch, the Red House Cafe across the street is a popular spot.

The location of the Gosby Inn is perfect. Pacific Grove is a good alternative if visiting the Carmel, Monterey, Pebble Beach Area. The hospitality is excellent. The afternoon Wine and Cheese/Snack time was a pleasant time to relax and meat the other guests. Breakfast was very good and the variety should satisfy anybodies wants. Although we prefer a true Bed and Breakfast (5 rooms or less) this is a good alternative, and far better than staying in a large hotel!

When we were first shown our room, Jack's Peak #23, I felt like the Little Princess waking up in a wonderland. This was the most beautiful hotel room I have ever stayed in. The butter yellow wallpaper, the fireplace accented with flemish tiles, the blooming flower boxes outside of the sparkling french windows, the lovely full deck looking out over the Pacific Grove town, the amazing spa bathroom with simple yet elegant black and white tiling. Wow.

Why I'm writing is this: During the Pacific Grove trip we were planning a trip to Ireland and my friend brought along two photo prints from the Burren in W. Ire that she had purchased during our 2001 trip. We propped them up on the mantel over the fireplace. We forgot to pack them upon our leave. I figured they were gone for good. A few days later the hotel called and said they would mail them to me....and did I need that expedited? (the hotel payed for this even though I offered to pay for the mailing). When I received the pictures in a carefully padded envelope enclosed were two of the custom black and gold Four Sisters corkscrews. You see, on the first day of our stay I had asked if they had these, and was told they did, but the woman at the desk couldn't locate them. So you see, she remembered my request. I cannot recall receiving such great service.

This is our third stay and each time has been delightful. The location is excellent and the cozy feeling and warm reception makes it feel like home. You can't beat the wine/cheese in the afternoon but what sets this B&B above the rest is the excellent breakfast buffet. On this stay blueberry crepes were served along with fresh fruit and my favorite a coffee cake. You also had a choice of hot/cold cereals, eggs, muffins, juices and full bodied coffee. It was a great way to start the day and head out on the rainy drive home.
Thanks Gosby House for an enjoyable stay. We will be back!
