Beautiful house, perfectly located with sea view and pleasent surrounding area.
Rooms very clean, most comfortable beds.
Very nice and helpful staff. Perfect start for 17 mile drive.

I cannot say enuff good stuff about this place! The room, the view, the friendly staff, the food (b'fast/snacks/wine/ evening cookies)..everything was SO classy...so well presented...so authentic..these are folks who know their bizness and execute it with style...we just live 30 minutes away so it's a little silly to go spend the $$ but it is worth it and we are going back next month! So delightlful. Thank-you for a memorable stay!

Room Tip: we stayed in Breakers...fabulous

I haven't stopped thinking about this place since our visit. We couldn't afford to stay here, but we couldn't resist based on the website's photographs, so we opted for the most economical room. The actual is even more wonderful than the website! Every decor detail of this heritage property was designed to perfection. Upon entering the lobby, my eyes welled up because I had never stayed in an inn so breathtaking. It was the kind of place I've dreamt of staying - the kind you read about in novels set by the ocean - and had never found. We arrived during the wine hour, so we decided that before checking in, we'd take advantage of the beautifully displayed wine and cheese. We settled into a loveseat in a nook and simply drank in the view of the ocean alongside our chardonnay.

The room and common areas were spotless to the point where I actually took a long bath in the bathtub (something I never do due to most places not being thoroughly cleaned). The H2O bath products were divine. The towels, sheets, and bed were luxurious. And the complimentary water was so appreciated.

The breakfast was AMAZING with loads of choices and great service from the friendly staff. Again, we sat at a table overlooking the ocean.

The cookies (snickerdoodles the first night and chocolate chip cookies the second) were heavenly and added to the cozy, warm, inviting experience of staying at Seven Gables.

I can't end this review without talking about Donna, who works at the front desk. I will forever be grateful for her kindness and help. She gave us options for dinner both nights and both places were PERFECT. She was so friendly, laid back, with a great sense of humour, which also made this place even more special (since a lot of upscale inns tend to be cold and off-putting for us average folks). Our second dinner was running a little late, so my husband called Donna from the restaurant and asked if she'd mind saving us some cookies. Upon arriving "home" for the evening, there was a plate of cookies on our nightstand! Thanks Donna for being the most amazing concierge ever!

The day we checked out, we bumped into the chef in the garden who was picking herbs for the wine and cheese. Oh my gosh, could it be any more amazing than that?!

Another thing to mention is that the kind of guests who stay at this place were friendly and the kind of people who like meeting strangers and making conversation. We met lovely people at breakfast and wine hour with lively conversations (even got a couple of emails).

We'll be back again! Please don't raise the prices any more!

The property itself is beautiful and striking. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and we were treated incredibly well. The room was comfortable and had a wonderful view of the ocean. Breakfasts were superb - a wonderful array of cakes, fruits and savoury treats! We would certainly stay again if we were in the area.

We stayed in the Arbor Room. It was so relaxing to sit in the chairs and enjoy the view. We were lucky and had 3 sunny, warm days. The room was decorated nicely and although not huge, was comfortable for the 2 of us. Bathroom was small, only able to fit one at a time. There was good attention to detail -- including binoculars in the room, which made my birdwatching husband very happy! Slso water bottles, granola bars, mints, chocolates and a preview of breakfast each evening. Breakfasts were good. The stuffed french toast was the best. We only made it to one of the wine & cheese hours (4-6 each day). The wine and food selection was very nice and again, views while enjoying it were spectacular. Although we arrived back from dinner after the cookies were out, each night someone offered for us to come to the kitchen and have cookies and coffee or tea. We also liked the location. We were able to walk everywhere -- aquarium, dinners (Beach House, Passhionfish, Famdango -- all of which were good) and along the water.

Sunday breakfast was the low-light of the stay as they kept running out of food and plates. They need to make some adjustments to keep up with the crowd.

Room Tip: The website has very accurate descriptions and a photo of the view from each room.

Not only are the rooms, house and grounds well kept and beautiful, with views that are fantastic from wherever you are on the property. The friendly, loving staff makes you feel special at every turn. They could not be more accommodating and helpful with anything you might need or want. We truly enjoy this beautiful B&B and look forward to our stay each year. If you want to feel like you have stepped into a fairytale dream this is the place to stay.

Read all the five star reviews and then double it. That's my opinion of the Seven Gables Inn. It is the perfect spot to stay if you are in the area. The outside grounds are perfectly manicured and the inside is impeccably clean. We took a tour of several rooms and decided to stay in the Fairlawn room. It is small but cozy. The afternoon wine and cheese is elegantly served in the main lobby. The breakfast room is beautiful and our breakfast was divine. I can't wait to go back to this place. It's more then we've ever spent on a hotel, but worth every penny!!
