“Very nice bed and breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2012

For a quick get a way, this b&b was a pleasant experience. The bed was comfy, the room was quaint and the bath was very nice. I especially liked the solid surface vanity and the large glass walled shower. The tv was small but we weren't there for tv. If you are going to the aquarium and the wharf then be prepared to walk or ride the free trolly. The trolly stops every 45 min and the walk to the aquarium was very nice along the nature trail next to the water for about 1 & 1/2 miles. The wharf is another 1-2 miles from there. I managed 16,000 steps that day! Just one block from the b&b is 17th st. and walking 2 blocks to the water is Lover Point with beach access. The nature trail starts there. Breakfast was good with eggs, muffins, fruit, cereals juice and coffee but of course my husband missed having bacon or sausage. This is an old building but has been well cared for.

Room Tip: Room 17 was on 1st floor but I wouldn't want rm 13 since it was off the main lobby. Upstairs ro...

Our first ever visit to Pacific Grove was a winner. The Green Gables Inn, recommended by The Inn At Sonoma (they are partner hotels) is perched right on the Monterey Bay waterfront, and is perfectly "chocolate box". For our anniversary we were provided with the Bon Apetite dinner package which included a great room rate, a $50 voucher at a fine local restaurant, with chocolates & sherry, balloon in our room, and a most wonderful breakfast. They offered bikes for riding the strand too! Our room was small, quaint and cozy, but we saw several other lovely rooms with bay views. We would certainly plan to stay here again!

Room Tip: The Garret Room is very small and cute, but we loved it. Bay view rooms are bigger and pricier, but...

Stunning views, the perfect location, and a very nice property. Our room was large and comfortable.

Breakfast was a bust. Few selections, no breakfast meats, and they ran our of pancakes one morning. Staff were in and out of the dining area but seemed oblivious to guests. The manager needs to busy herself making guests feel welcomed and ensure that simply needs are met.

Not sure I would go back. Too many other paces to try.

We stayed at the Green Gables Inn for our wedding anniversary. We could not have been more happy!! The inn is beautiful! It is in a great location, right across the street from the ocean. It is short walk to downtown Pacific Grove, Cannery Row, and New Monterey. They serve afternoon appetizers and wine, which were very nice. The breakfast buffet was great! They had a large selection of fresh, home cooked items. We stayed on the second floor in the "Gable" room. The room could not have been better. It was nice not having a television. We listened to music and talked. I would recommend the Green Gables Inn for those that want a relaxing, romantic get away. We will be back again!

I just returned from a stay at the Green Gables in Pacific Grove. It is the only B&B I stay at when in this area. It sits on a corner across from Monterey Bay. The views are breathtaking and you can fall asleep to the sounds of the waves crashing. I was lucky enough to stay at this time because the mama seals were out in numbers with their babies. I spent a lot of time just watching them. You can just cross the street and there is a walking/bike path along Ocean View Avenue that takes you from Lovers Point (and beyond) or down to the Aquarium ( and beyond). I had a room with a view and, since I am an early riser, I would sit by the window in the sunshine and have my coffee just taking in beautiful scenery. Breakfast is a buffet and quite nice. There is an afternoon wine and cheese that is very good. And, especially nice, are the cookies/cakes that are left out. I like the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to be helpful and give recommendations.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms in the main house require the sharting of a bathroom. There is, however, one room...

We stayed at this lovely B&B on our way down highway 1 and the Big Sur. This was our first visit and we were in the Carriage House. The room was very large and well equipped, lovely fireplace and spacious bathroom. We had a corner view of the ocean. It was wonderful to eat breakfast by the window on a sunny morning and watch the waves crashing across the way while a sea otter and sea otter froliced in the surf. We could have sat there for ages...
Lovely wine and cheese and sweets in the evening. We were somewhat disappointed by the breakfast, it could stand some improvement, as it is not reflective of the overall impression and quality of the property.
This beautiful home is walking distance into town and many restaurants, including Passionfish, which was excellent.

Right on the Ocean. You can hear the waves from the Inn. Excellent location for Tourist spots. The walk way right across the street leads to the Aquarium, Cannery row and lots of restaurants.

Wife and I walked everywhere. To the South was a lot of more "college town" type locations like pizza parlors and sushi spots and to the north were more of the higher class, nicer restaurants like Passion Fish and Fandangos. Both are great places by the way.

The Inn was great as well. We stayed in the suite on the first floor. The room was VERY nice. 15 ft ceilings and 2 rooms. LOTS of room for 2. Gas Fireplace in lounge room, King bed, jacuzzi tub for one or a tight 2, cable tv.

Our only complaint was the walls were a little thin. You could hear people moving about and talking in the common areas so Im sure they could hear us too. Could be different for other rooms though.

Other than that everything was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful, good food, wine at night, no complaints.

Room Tip: Lacy Suite was very roomy and comfy but thin walls.
