“So so”

I'm not very sea strong, this affects my review.
They serve nice breaky, muffin, fruit and a piece of omelet. Drinks can be bought at a fair price.
I puked less than 20 min after leaving the small port. This made the first hour less fun, after that the worst part was over and I started enjoying being out at sea.
We saw a sealion at port, a couple of dolphins and a lot of sealions and seals out at the islands. Nothing else besides some birds. No whales. Bummer, but the whales are free and we were out of luck. But go go go (take a motionsick pill before going if you get motionsick) and enhoy the beautiful area. Check groupon etc for great deals, we did and were lucky to get the trip 50% of.

“Great day on the water!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2012

Channel Islands Whale Watching was a fantastic day on the water. The "three hour tour" was breathtaking. We followed gray whales, sea lions, and dolphins. The crew was excellent. There is plenty of room on the boat. I recommend going, if at all possible, during the week, where the number of passengers is fewer. The "captain" was amazing at spotting whales, and he included information about the area and the sea life along the way. We had a great day! Highly recommended.

“Great time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2012

My husband and I highly recommend this trip! We were lucky enough to get a great deal with Groupon for half the normal price. The boat Ranger 85 is a big boat that takes about 70 people comfortably. The captain was great and even kept us out a little longer than usual. There aren't many seats available so try to go early to find one at the back of the boat. The weather on the day we went was perfect but unfortunately no whales that day. We will go again for sure!

“Whale of a Good Time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 29, 2012

We took this whale-watching cruise because it was on our bucket list, and Groupon had a two-for-one special. We figured we might see a few dolphins and sea lions, and if we got lucky, maybe a whale would make an appearance. We were amazed and thrilled to see several groups of humpbacks, at least 10 different whales. Some were as close as 20 yards from the boat. The captain and crew seemed knowledgeable. It's a good-sized boat (80 passengers, I think), and when we were out, the ocean was quite calm with no swells whatsoever. We didn't buy any food onboard, but it smelled really good. It was an all-around great outing, and we'd go again.
