Food, service and atmosphere was wonderful! Nice wine selections or resonable cork fee if you bring your own!

This place is very welcoming and cozy on the inside. An extensive wine list-and downstairs bar (for after dinner) are also huge pluses. We enjoyed the warm bread and bruschetta that was complimentary. The soup of the day (tomato basil) was absolutely delicious. The meals themselves were alright-not amazing, but the prices were very fair. The thing that made me question coming back was how infrequently we saw our server, and how long it took to finally get our check and to-go boxes. The bar was a great, small space to hang-out. There's a fireplace and good selection.

We held a business lunch here this week and had a marvelous experience. Excellent food and good service. The bread and spread were tasty. The Ahi Tuna special was perfection. i had the onion soup and salmon salad. What a great flavorful treat.

We will return!

We went to LDV for the first time for a special birthday dinner. The Heritage Square location is very charming and the vintage home that houses the restaurant is really nice. We enjoyed the bruschetta and bread that came before the meal very much. Our dinners were "good" but I couldn't say that they were outstanding for what the restaurant charges. We shared a piece of chocolate bread pudding that was underdone and way too sweet even for someone who likes their chocolate.

Want to like this place. I loved it when it was in Port Hueneme and have been to the Heritage Sq site about 10 times..... I is consistent-- servers that are young and have no idea about the wines or the menu, mediocre wines and "Italian" basic plates that are designed by a non-chef and cooked by chain food cooks... Not Italian, Not Special and Not for a special occasion..... It appears to survive on its downstairs bar crowd-- which I do like and appreciate...... Better option elsewhere in Oxnard.
